Story
Miss Lottie is a 14yo mini schnauzer. She is old and doesn't always know what's going on, but she loves exploring the yard and going on short walks. She will sit with you on the couch, and loves cuddling up in her kennel for a good nap. She's is great with our little toy poodle and gets along with all of our animals and humans! Lottie originally came into our care with her older sister, who has sadly passed away since being in our care. But it’s not too late for Lottie - please adopt this sweet senior girl!

Please share Tyler to help him find a home! Tyler, the super cute, adorable little schnauzer mix, is still looking for his home. This should surprise exactly none of us, given Tyler's attitude. It's not great, folks. He's kind of a pain in the behind, really, in that he's not likely to give you the time of day. Don't expect to be able to pet this guy. Oh no. You can feed him the best premium food, provide Perrier bottled water, give him a deluxe heated and cooled place to sleep, even an imported European treat or two. BUT DON'T YOU TRY TO PET TYLER. His months on the lam in Beloit, Kansas, made an impression on him: people are not to be trusted, and that includes you, whoever you are. On a positive note, because we are glass-half-full type of people, Tyler really, truly does like his dog friends, and most of them like him back. In fact, we insist that he has a dog friend in his new home. And we think he has the potential to maybe eventually like humans. He is making progress on leash, so there's that. If you're willing to completely ignore him long enough, possibly, there's a chance, you might be able to someday . . . touch Tyler? Meet Maimee 💕 Maimee is a 4-year-old Cairn Terrier with a brave heart and a gentle soul. She’s been through so much, yet continues to move forward with quiet resilience and grace. Found in an abandoned trailer with her two sons, Dean and Wrigley, after their owners were incarcerated, Maimee survived harsh conditions without water or electricity in the summer heat. Tragically, Maimee and one of her sons were later struck by a car and sustained injuries. Thanks to the care of a rural shelter and the team at Melissa’s Second Chances, Maimee received the medical attention she needed and has been steadily healing ever since. This strong little mama recently had surgery to remove her damaged right eye and is recovering beautifully. She’s used to being brave for her puppies, so she naturally takes on a leadership role. Maimee is dog-friendly and would do best with another calm, social dog who doesn’t mind letting her take the lead. She’s still a bit nervous around men and isn’t suited for a home with cats. Despite everything she’s endured, Maimee has the sweetest heart and warms up quickly once she feels safe. She’s the kind of dog who forms deep, lasting bonds with her people—a true “soul dog” just waiting for the right match. Maimee is ready for a fresh start filled with safety, patience, and the comfort of being part of a loving family again. 💛 She is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program, which means you can take some time to get to know him in your home before finalizing the adoption.
