Story
Meet Trudy 🐾 Trudy is a 5-year-old, 18-lb Miniature Schnauzer with the softest heart and the sweetest soul. After spending her whole life as a puppy-mill mama, she’s finally getting the chance to discover what it means to just be a dog. Trudy is a little shy at first, but once she feels safe, her gentle and loving personality really shines. She’s incredibly sweet and enjoys quiet companionship with the people she trusts. Watching her slowly learn that the world can be kind is truly special. She’s currently using potty pads and doing well, and she’s beginning to learn the basics of walking on a leash as she gains confidence. Trudy is crate trained but does well without one and appreciates a calm, cozy space where she can relax. Because so much of life is new to her, Trudy would thrive in a patient, loving home—ideally a quieter environment where she can continue building confidence at her own pace. With kindness, routine, and a little time, this beautiful girl will blossom into a devoted and grateful companion. Trudy has spent years taking care of others. Now it’s her turn to be someone’s cherished family member. 💕 Trudy is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Felix is an extremely affectionate, people-loving dog who forms deep bonds with his family. He is especially attached to his kids and owners and wants their attention all to himself. Because of this, Felix does best as the only dog in the home, where he can be the center of attention and feel secure. When he is on his own with his people, Felix truly shines. He is incredibly sweet, playful, and very intelligent. He enjoys engaging with his humans, learning, and being involved in daily life. Felix thrives on one-on-one connection and responds best in an environment where his loyalty and affection can be fully reciprocated. Felix would do best in a home looking for a devoted companion who wants a loving, interactive dog and is able to give him the attention he deserves. Adjectives that describe Felix best are affectionate, loyal, playful, smart, and loving.

Story
Meet 2 year old Max! This handsome 20 lb. schnauzer mix finds himself in rescue due to his initial home not being the best fit for him. He is now looking for that furever family to grow old with. Max had a very loving home with another dog and children, but it was just to active of a home for him. The busy home and children playing made this guy very nervous, and he spent a lot of time hiding. Noticing this, the family made the difficult decision to reach out to rescue to find a home that was a better fit. Max loves his toys and car rides, knows the doggie door and steps and is housebroken. He would love a home with a physical fence since he loves to run, no children (no exceptions) and a quiet home life. He would also love to have a dog close to his age to play with. If you think Max might be the next best friend for your family, please fill out the application below. Gets along with other dogs? Yes Gets along with cats? Unknown Gets along with other pets? Story
Meet 10 year old Jingles, looking for his furever family. Jingles is a loving and gentle soul seeking a special home that can accommodate his needs as a diabetic pup. Diagnosed just last year, Jingles hadn’t been fed a proper diet and his weight became out of control. Now with no table food, prescription food, insulin injections twice daily he is doing phenomenal. His care is all about routine. He takes his daily injections like a champ and he’s down 15 lbs. since entering rescue. His insulin was at 16 units twice a day, but now on 8 units twice a day. Jingles loves to run and play with is foster brothers and sisters so a home with back yard is a must as well as another pup. He will walk on a leash, but does require some training as he does pull. He is completely house broken, and crate trained. Even though this sweet boy is crate trained he doesn’t requitd it and does love to sleep in the bedroom with you on a doggie bed at night. He is up to date on all vaccines, prevention, chipped, a dental, and neutered. If you think you are the perfect family for Jingles, please fill out an application. Gets along with other dogs? Story
Updated 8-3-2024 $400 adoption fee is for both pups! Meet the dynamic duo of Henry and Helen! These sweet pups are puppy mill survivors. They were found alone in an abandoned house, and we’d like them to stay together. Henry is approx. 7-8 years old, 12 lbs. schnauzer/terrier mix (maybe some Beagle?). He LOVES his person and constantly will follow you around the house. His favorite activities include snuggling, napping, and hanging outside. He is house trained, does OK on a leash, and rarely makes a noise. You may hear him whine a little bit if he doesn’t know where you are. While out of the house, he is either left out or in the office with the door closed. He is trusted and doesn’t use a crate. He can do stairs and jump off/on the bed and couch. Story
Meet Skipper! Skipper is an 8-month-old Mini Schnauzer puppy with a sweet, gentle personality and lots of puppy curiosity. He’s still learning about the world and does best with guidance, patience, and love. Skipper must have another dog in the home, as he gains confidence by following his canine friends and truly thrives with a buddy to show him the ropes. He’s also still learning to walk on a leash, so a securely fenced yard is required for safe play and continued training. He’s a playful, affectionate boy who enjoys toys, cozy naps, and being near his people. Skipper is looking for a committed, loving home ready to help him grow into the confident little guy he’s meant to be. He is being fostered in Columbus, Ohio. Gets along with other dogs?
