Story
Perseus is currently in Rhode Island and looking for his "furever" home! This petite boy is shy at first but give him a bit of time and patience and you’ll see his fun-loving personality! He's a fantastic companion at home but can be rather nervous when meeting new furry friends on the street. Perseus prefers to take things slow therefore he's looking for a dedicated family who will help him make new friends at a comfortable, structured pace and continue to help build his confidence! On account of this, Perseus would probably do best in a quieter home with older children and adults. Perseus loves time outside and is happiest when he gets to go on at least one walk a day. He adores being pet and will gently paw or nuzzle you for more pets if you stop too soon! If you are interested in adopting this dog, please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter. If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! Be sure to check our Facebook page "Rhode Home Rescue" for details on upcoming events and other announcements.   June 25, 2026, 3:48 pm

Story
Meet little Buddy! He is a small Schnauzer mix. After his loving owner passed away, Buddy was thrown into the backyard by relatives who did not care for him properly. Fortunately, he survived the hot Arkansas summer & was relinquished to rescue.  Buddy thoroughly enjoys toys, lounging at home, & taking car rides. He loves playing outside & is very inquisitive about his surroundings. A fenced-in yard is recommended to keep him safe. In his foster home, all dogs are fed seperately. However, Buddy does a great job waiting for treats when given alongside the other dogs. While Buddy does well with other small dogs, he is not a fan of cats. A feline-free home is best for this little guy. Although he enjoys playing with toys, he does resource guard at times & will nip in order to keep them, therefore a home without young children or grandchildren is needed. Little Buddy gets along well with both men and women & would do great with adults. Buddy loves to be held like a baby & licks often to show his affection. He has had several teeth removed, but has no issues eating. Buddy is crate-trained, does well with a harness, & is using the doggy door as well as potty pads in his foster home. He does have occasional accidents. His foster mom is available to answer any questions.  Little Buddy is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, & heartworm negative. His adoption fee for New England adopters is $500, which includes transport to New England & a health certificate from his veterinarian. His local adoption fee is $175 (no transportation or health certificate). ##2580863##

Story
This adorable duo were found in a very remote area in Arkansas. Unbelievably shy, they have gradually started coming out of their shell, and their personalities are beginning to blossom. Both are quick to smile and love the attention they are getting.  They are very affectionate and love belly rubs, squeaky toys, and chasing the other pups around the yard. Although they can be active, they also love to lay on the couch and watch television. They are not hyperactive at all. Both boys are crate trained and potty trained. They are young, so they still want to get into mischief such as chewing up socks. So before submitting an application, be aware that they are young and will need more training. Neither one has a dominant personality, they're both very low-key and get along great with other dogs and together. Both do very well while taking a bath. Benji is 2 pounds lighter than his brother Andy. They both weigh under 30 pounds and probably will not grow to be much larger. As much as we would love to see them go together as a bonnet pair, we realize that may not be possible. So we are willing to adopt them out separately. If someone would like to adopt them as a bonded pair, we will be happy to take off $150 off of the adoption fee. Currently they're being fostered on a farm in Arkansas. Transport is available to New England. Their adoption fee is $450 each, which includes the cost of transport. Andy and Benji are both heartworm negative, up-to-date on all core vaccinations, and microchipped. Both are afraid of kids and cats.  ##2559637##

Now thriving in foster care, Scottie has quickly shown what a wonderful companion he is. Story
Dogs Name: Theodore/“Teddy” Age: 5 Breed: Schnauzer mix Current size: ~25 lb Size potential: he is full size Leash trained: yes Crate Trained: yes Potty trained: yes Kids: relaxed around kids Other animals: great and relaxed with all animals Energy level: low House or apartment: house Story/background: he was found fenced in on a highway road fully matted and covered in fleas with a sign and balloons saying “found dog”. So we shaved him down and found he had a staph skin infection from the matting (medicated for this) and gave him flea bath & treatment. He easily settled into his new environment. What you see is what you get when it comes to this boys calm demeanor. He’s truly the best dog. He is also Heartworm negative, fixed, and fully vetted. Ideal home/family lifestyle: laidback. He’s a great lap dog, snuggle bug, and low maintenance. He’s great with car rides, going public places. He’s good with baths & haircuts. He never makes a peep He’s simply a chill, loveable guy. ##2756928##
