For far too long, sweet Ziggy lived a life where she was simply overlooked.
This beautiful 8-year-old Schnauzer spent years being neglected by her owners. She wasn't taken to the veterinarian, wasn't included in family activities, and rarely received the love and attention every dog deserves. Thankfully, a compassionate neighbor saw how special Ziggy was. For over a year, she loved her, cared for her, and repeatedly asked if she could give Ziggy the life she deserved. When her owners finally agreed, Ziggy was immediately taken to the veterinarian, showered with care, and brought to Paws of Dixie Animal Rescue to begin her new chapter.
Now all Ziggy needs is a forever family.
Ziggy is a wonderful little companion who loves people and gets along well with other dogs, cats, and respectful children. At 8 years old, she's left the puppy chaos behind. She isn't interested in roughhousing or having large, energetic dogs bouncing in her face. Instead, she'd love a peaceful home where she can relax, enjoy leisurely walks, soak up affection, and finally know what it's like to be someone's cherished best friend.
She's healthy, happy, and has so much love left to give. After spending so many years waiting for someone to truly choose her, we think it's finally Ziggy's turn to be spoiled.

Paws of Dixie Animal Rescue adopts in the New England area. Our adoption fee includes the spay/neuter, up to date shots, Microchip, Alabama Health Certificate, and the transport service to get the new family pet to you.
The pets are delivered by a licensed transporter.

Please be advised that our volunteers are busy rescuing, transporting, and caring for our animals. We will respond to your application as soon as possible. Upon review of your application, the rescue in AL will contact you, so you can ask any specific questions that you may have.
NOTE: All Paws of Dixie animals are located in AL foster homes. They will be transported north after adoption.
If there is more than one decision maker in the home, all of them should be in agreement.
We DO NOT adopt to anyone under the age of 21
