Story
Meet little Buddy! He is a small Schnauzer mix. After his loving owner passed away, Buddy was thrown into the backyard by relatives who did not care for him properly. Fortunately, he survived the hot Arkansas summer & was relinquished to rescue.  Buddy thoroughly enjoys toys, lounging at home, & taking car rides. He loves playing outside & is very inquisitive about his surroundings. A fenced-in yard is recommended to keep him safe. In his foster home, all dogs are fed seperately. However, Buddy does a great job waiting for treats when given alongside the other dogs. While Buddy does well with other small dogs, he is not a fan of cats. A feline-free home is best for this little guy. Although he enjoys playing with toys, he does resource guard at times & will nip in order to keep them, therefore a home without young children or grandchildren is needed. Little Buddy gets along well with both men and women & would do great with adults. Buddy loves to be held like a baby & licks often to show his affection. He has had several teeth removed, but has no issues eating. Buddy is crate-trained, does well with a harness, & is using the doggy door as well as potty pads in his foster home. He does have occasional accidents. His foster mom is available to answer any questions.  Little Buddy is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, & heartworm negative. His adoption fee for New England adopters is $500, which includes transport to New England & a health certificate from his veterinarian. His local adoption fee is $175 (no transportation or health certificate). ##2580863##

Story
This adorable duo were found in a very remote area in Arkansas. Unbelievably shy, they have gradually started coming out of their shell, and their personalities are beginning to blossom. Both are quick to smile and love the attention they are getting.  They are very affectionate and love belly rubs, squeaky toys, and chasing the other pups around the yard. Although they can be active, they also love to lay on the couch and watch television. They are not hyperactive at all. Both boys are crate trained and potty trained. They are young, so they still want to get into mischief such as chewing up socks. So before submitting an application, be aware that they are young and will need more training. Neither one has a dominant personality, they're both very low-key and get along great with other dogs and together. Both do very well while taking a bath. Benji is 2 pounds lighter than his brother Andy. They both weigh under 30 pounds and probably will not grow to be much larger. As much as we would love to see them go together as a bonnet pair, we realize that may not be possible. So we are willing to adopt them out separately. If someone would like to adopt them as a bonded pair, we will be happy to take off $150 off of the adoption fee. Currently they're being fostered on a farm in Arkansas. Transport is available to New England. Their adoption fee is $450 each, which includes the cost of transport. Andy and Benji are both heartworm negative, up-to-date on all core vaccinations, and microchipped. Both are afraid of kids and cats.  ##2559637##

Story
Meet Ziggy! Adoption Fee: $499 includes transport Adoption Application - Copy & Paste https://forms.gle/FmtRtYxQNnemdkdw9 For far too long, sweet Ziggy lived a life where she was simply overlooked. This beautiful 8-year-old Schnauzer spent years being neglected by her owners. She wasn't taken to the veterinarian, wasn't included in family activities, and rarely received the love and attention every dog deserves. Thankfully, a compassionate neighbor saw how special Ziggy was. For over a year, she loved her, cared for her, and repeatedly asked if she could give Ziggy the life she deserved. When her owners finally agreed, Ziggy was immediately taken to the veterinarian, showered with care, and brought to Paws of Dixie Animal Rescue to begin her new chapter. Now all Ziggy needs is a forever family. Ziggy is a wonderful little companion who loves people and gets along well with other dogs, cats, and respectful children. At 8 years old, she's left the puppy chaos behind. She isn't interested in roughhousing or having large, energetic dogs bouncing in her face. Instead, she'd love a peaceful home where she can relax, enjoy leisurely walks, soak up affection, and finally know what it's like to be someone's cherished best friend. She's healthy, happy, and has so much love left to give. After spending so many years waiting for someone to truly choose her, we think it's finally Ziggy's turn to be spoiled. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will happily spend her days by your side, please send in an adoption application. Ziggy has waited long enough for the loving home she's always deserved. Here's the adoption application, please copy & paste. https://forms.gle/FmtRtYxQNnemdkdw9 **To see all of our pets available for adoption, please copy this link. https://www.petfinder.com/search/pets-for-adoption/?shelter_id%5B0%5D=AL450&sort%5B0%5D=recently_added Paws of Dixie Animal Rescue adopts in the New England area. The pets are delivered by a licensed transporter. PDAR.info@gmail.com COMPLETED APPLICATIONS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER INQUIRIES. If you are interested in adopting, the FIRST step is to complete an application. Please be advised that our volunteers are busy rescuing, transporting, and caring for our animals. We will respond to your application as soon as possible. Upon review of your application, the rescue in AL will contact you, so you can ask any specific questions that you may have. NOTE: All Paws of Dixie animals are located in AL foster homes. They will be transported north after adoption. Story
If you're looking for a happy-go-lucky sidekick with a goofy personality and a heart full of love, Steve is your guy! At just 1 year old and 14 pounds, Steve is a fun-loving pup who enjoys making new friends—both human and canine. He loves playing fetch, learning new tricks, carrying around his favorite toys (and occasionally a shoe!), and then curling up beside his people for a well-earned nap. Steve is smart, affectionate, and just a little precocious. Like many young dogs, he's curious, playful, and sometimes a bit mischievous, so he'll do best with plenty of appropriate toys, enrichment, and positive training to keep his busy mind engaged. He already knows "sit," is working on "down," and even has a fun trick where he walks on his hind legs! Steve did have a difficult start in life and is still gaining confidence with grooming after a past traumatic experience. He's already making wonderful progress through positive reinforcement and is looking for a family who will continue helping him build positive associations. Because Steve is still a young, playful pup who can get excited and likes to investigate the world with his mouth, we think he'd do best in a home with children 10 years and older who can help set him up for success. If you're looking for a playful young dog who will make you laugh, keep you active, and happily snuggle up beside you at the end of the day, Steve is ready to meet you!

Story
Meet Milo Too 🐾Milo Too is a 6-year-old, 20-pound Schnauzer/Shih Tzu mix who is adjusting to life in foster care after a major life change. After three weeks, he's beginning to show his sweet personality and settle into a routine.Milo has a moderate energy level and enjoys exploring a fenced yard and playing with squeaky toys. He is house-trained and does well in an exercise pen when unsupervised, as he is not a fan of crates.Milo lived with a retired couple and had limited exposure to children. He currently lives with small dogs but prefers human attention and may do best as an only dog. He also has a typical Schnauzer prey drive, so a cat-free home is recommended.Milo can be reactive to new people and activity, often barking at delivery people and becoming anxious on walks. He will need a patient adopter committed to helping him build confidence and improve leash manners through training.Ideal home: A quiet, suburban or rural home with a fenced yard and a calm, consistent routine.Milo is a sensitive, loyal companion who needs time, patience, and love to shine truly. 💛If you are interested in finding out more about Milo Too, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser:https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/DogMilo Too is being fostered in Central MassThe adoption fee is $500Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!.Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram!Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
