Story
Meet Paris 🤍 Paris is beautiful inside and out. This sweet mama came to Cactus Ranch Rescue after a life that had not been kind to her. She had been abused, neglected, and failed by the people who were supposed to protect her — yet somehow, Paris still chooses love. Shortly after making it to safety, Paris became a mama, and she has been absolutely incredible. For a first-time mom, she stepped into the role with so much love, patience, and devotion. She is protective of her babies in the sweetest way and has done everything she can to keep them safe, comforted, and cared for. But Paris is more than just a mama. She is loving, loyal, and deeply affectionate. She is a certified couch cuddle pro who wants nothing more than to be close to her people and soak up the comfort she should have always known. After everything she has been through, Paris still has a gentle heart and so much love left to give. Paris deserves a forever home that will cherish her, protect her, and remind her every single day that she is safe now. She deserves soft places to land, patient hands, cozy couches, and a family who will never make her question her worth again. Paris survived the hard part. Now she deserves the beautiful life.

Story
Meet Shadow Jayden, a 5-year-old, 13-pound Schnauzer mix with a complex heart and a story that’s still unfolding. Shadow came to us from another shelter and has been struggling to feel safe and settled in the kennel environment. Shadow is a highly fearful and reactive dog who finds new people and situations overwhelming. He is especially reactive around barriers. Because of this, Shadow will need a very experienced, patient, and dog-savvy adopter or rescue partner who understands how to work with fear-based behaviors. While he’s doing okay with his potty training, he’ll need continued consistency and a calm, structured environment to thrive. Leash training has been challenging due to his reactivity, and he will need slow, positive reinforcement to help him feel more secure. Shadow Jayden isn’t ready for the average home—but with the right person who’s willing to give him time, space, and understanding, we believe there’s potential for him to begin healing. He needs someone who sees beyond his fear and is committed to helping him feel safe in a world that’s been very scary so far. Adoption fee is: $100 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. Story
Max Elliot is a charming 13-year-old Schnauzer mix weighing 28 pounds who is ready for a fresh start. After being saved from the euthanasia list in Houston, Max has embraced his second chance and is looking forward to finding a family of his very own. From the moment he arrived at Camo Rescue, Max made it clear that making friends is one of his favorite hobbies. This sweet senior hasn't met a stranger and happily soaks up attention from everyone he meets. Max absolutely melts for pets and would be perfectly content spending his days curled up on the couch or snuggled in bed, simply enjoying time with his people. He is dog friendly but mainly just wants time with his humans. Max is doing wonderfully with his potty training and leash walking and is expected to master both with the consistency of a home environment. His easygoing personality and affectionate nature make him a joy to have around. Whether you're an adult looking for a loyal companion or a family with children eager to experience the special love that only a senior dog can offer, Max Elliot is ready to fit right in. He may be in his golden years, but his heart is full of love and he's ready to share it with the lucky family who gives him the forever home he deserves. Adoption fee is: $200 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Story
Meet Honey Boo – Proof That Second Chances Change Lives. 💛 Hi, I'm Honey Boo! I'm a 9–10-year-old male terrier/ schnauzer mix with a heart full of love, and while my story started with heartbreak, I'm hoping it ends with a forever family. I came to CAMO Rescue after being placed on the urgent euthanasia list at BARC Animal Shelter because of a serious medical injury. I had a fractured spine, after being hit by a car, and my future looked uncertain. Thankfully, CAMO Rescue stepped in and gave me the chance I deserved. I underwent a laminectomy surgery, and ever since then, I've been working hard every single day to recover. I'm proud to say I've made tremendous progress! I can walk on my own pretty well now, mostly on two-wheel drive, and I don't let my injury stop me from enjoying life. I'm a fun-loving, happy little guy who wakes up every day ready for affection, adventures, and quality time with my favorite people. Because of my spinal injury, I do have a few special needs. I can't completely empty my bladder by myself, so I'll need someone to help hold me steady outside and help me express my bladder about three times a day. However, I like to be independent, and will act like I dont want you to help. I can poop independently too! I'm also potty trained and have settled into my routine like a champ. Once you learn my care routine, it simply becomes another way we bond. I'm neutered, up to date on all my vaccinations, microchipped, and I've already begun treatment for heartworms with ProHeart 12 and doxycycline. I'll need to be retested in six months at CAMO Rescue's expense, and if I'm still positive, my next ProHeart injection will also be covered. What I'm really searching for isn't perfection—it's someone willing to see past my injury and into my heart. I don't spend my days thinking about what happened to me. I'm too busy enjoying treats, making new friends, wagging my tail, and soaking up every bit of love I can get. I survived for a reason. Maybe that reason is you. 💛 My adoption fee has been waived to the right home. ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs.
