Tawny loves to play and gets along with everyone she meets. She would love a family that is home often. She is still very young and will need some training. Disclaimer:The information in this profile is based on observations made while this dog has been in our shelter environment. We do our best to describe each dog accurately; however, behavior and needs may change in a new home, routine, or environment. Our dogs are not free-roaming in homes. “Potty trained” indicates reliable crate training, not confirmed free-roam house training. Accidents may occur during the transition to a new home, and additional training should be expected. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian, are spayed or neutered, and are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations at the time of adoption. While we provide all known medical information, we cannot guarantee future health or the absence of underlying conditions. ##2669784##

Story
Little Ozzy is a 5-year-old, 14-pound charmer with a big heart and an easygoing personality. This sweet boy is all about love, comfort, and enjoying life at a relaxed pace. Ozzy absolutely adores people and is happiest when he’s soaking up affection. He’s a cuddly companion who will gladly curl up next to you on the couch after a long day. While he loves being close, he’s not overly clingy and can happily entertain himself nearby. He’s a well-mannered pup who is potty trained, walks nicely on a leash, and already knows basic commands like sit and recall. Ozzy is also food-motivated, which makes continued training a breeze. He enjoys soft toys but isn’t much into games like fetch—he’s more of a “relax and watch the world go by” kind of guy. Ozzy gets along well with other dogs and cats, though he doesn’t have much interest in playing with them. He prefers calm companions and may give a little warning bark if another dog is too pushy. He could do well either as an only dog or with a laid-back canine friend. This confident little guy would do best in a home with children 8 years and older, as he prefers a calmer environment. He can live comfortably in an apartment and doesn’t require a yard. Ozzy is not destructive, not skittish, and doesn’t have any resource guarding behaviors. He may bark a bit when left alone and sometimes at night—especially if he’d rather be snuggled up with his humans instead of sleeping solo. With a little routine and reassurance, he’ll settle in just fine. Ozzy enjoys car rides, loves his people, and is ready to be someone’s loyal little sidekick. If you’re looking for a sweet, calm, and affectionate companion to share your days with, Little Ozzy might just be your perfect match 💛 Little Ozzy is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated pup who is kept on heartworm and flea preventatives. Yards, if any, MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. To meet this sweet boy via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Ozzy’s adoption fee include all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, and a high quality collar, harness and leash. Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.

Story
Hi. My name is Boone. Yes… Boone in a red bucket. You’re probably wondering why a perfectly good dog is sitting in a bright red bucket like a rejected toy from aisle seven. Allow me to explain. This photo was taken right after my very first trip to the groomer, while I waited for my foster mom to pick me up. Before that? A very kind lady found me on the streets, and my hair was so matted and tangled that she actually broke her clippers trying to shave me. I wish I were exaggerating. I’m not. It hurt. I had clearly been on my own for a while. Thankfully, that nice lady brought me to Twilight Tails, and they sent me to a professional to finish the job. Just you wait until my hair grows back in—I am going to be quite the looker. For now, let’s call this my “minimalist phase”. So, about me: We’ve agreed I’m some kind of Mini Schnauzer/Terrier/Maltese mix, about 12 pounds, and roughly 2 years old. Compact, portable, and perfect for cuddling. My foster mom says I am VERY affectionate and lovable, which is true. I don’t love being left alone in those wire crate things—I much prefer being with my person. If I could explain it better, I would, but I think “please don’t leave me” covers it. I have medium energy, I play nicely with other dogs, but if given the choice, I will pick my human every single time. I may seem shy for about five minutes, and then I’m all hugs, kisses, and devotion. Also, treats. I really love treats. I had never had them before. Same with toys. I’m still figuring those out. At night, I sleep at the foot of my foster mom’s bed. In the morning, when the lights come on, I immediately cover her with kisses. This is non-negotiable. I walk well on a leash, and now that I have a sweater, I’m very happy to go for neighborhood walks. I would do great in an apartment or a home with a yard. Other dogs are fine but not required. I’d probably be okay with cats too—I’m pretty sure I met a few while surviving on the streets. I am the perfect dog for someone who wants a loving, loyal companion. I don’t need much—just a person to love and a place to belong. I hope to meet my forever family soon. I promise to love you forever. Boone ___________________________________________________________________________________ MORE DETAILS: Boone is neutered, microchipped & vaccinated and would benefit from being adopted by a dog-loving person who understands he has so much to offer but will need a little time to adjust and settle in with his new family. NOTE: THIS IS AN "OUT OF TOWN PET" - that means he is not at this location but we do have transport here - more about transport below. Our Rescue is Houston based (https://www.facebook.com/TwilightTailsRescue) and all our fosters and Rescue Ranch are in and around Houston. Currently this Boone is being fostered at our Rescue Ranch near Houston, TX but can be brought close to your home on rescue transport which comes through your area once a month. Transport info below. Adoption fee is $495 plus $30 for a health certificate and $250 for transport. Please complete the application on this link: https://forms.gle/FKSMBuoGTujaTkun8 Or email Sandra.ttr.tx@gmail.com for a link to the application. Once your application is approved, we can arrange a FaceTime session for you to meet him. Understanding transport: Once everything is all approved, dogs are scheduled on transport using AJC Rescue & Transport (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083418067425). Transport means dogs are carefully and thoughtfully moved via scheduled air conditioned/heated vans from our doggy ranch in Fulshear, TX to a location near you. Each transport consists of a team of two drivers who can alternate. This is how we communicate in real time. The driver who is not driving, will be updating the group chat. You will be included in this group chat to track your dog through transport. You will also be given exact location and scheduled time of arrival. Our drivers do everything possible to run on-time however, things such as traffic, weather etc. can affect arrival time. You will updated regarding delays or possible early arrival. Keep in mind, dogs on transport stop for bathroom, walk and food breaks. For safety, all dogs are crated during transport. We use what we think is the best dog transport service in the region and have for years - Andrea and her crew really offer first class transport!
