Story
    Meet Crispin York! This two-year-old, 11-pound Yorkie mix is a quiet, gentle soul looking for a special person to help him discover that the world can be a safe and happy place. Crispin came from a situation where he lived with many other dogs and had limited socialization. New experiences can still feel overwhelming, and he is naturally skittish and not yet comfortable with much handling. He has shown no signs of aggression; when he feels unsure, his instinct is to retreat rather than confront. He is also a flight risk and may try to slip out of a leash or collar, so a secure, fully fenced yard and careful safety precautions are essential. But there is plenty of promise in this little guy! Crispin comes out of his crate for food, takes treats from your hand, and will wander nearby as he begins to feel safe. He is very food-motivated, which is a great way to build trust and help him gain confidence. He also sleeps quietly in his crate and does well with other small dogs. He seems to enjoy older children, too, so a calm home with respectful teens may be a good fit. Crispin needs a patient, adult or teen-and-up household that understands trust takes time. He isn't likely to be a lap dog on day one, and he may need time before he's comfortable being touched. His new family will need to let him set the pace, celebrate the little victories, and never push him beyond what feels safe. With a gentle canine companion, a secure environment, and people willing to give him the time he needs, Crispin has the potential to become a devoted little friend. His progress may come in small steps, but each one will be worth celebrating. Could you be the person who helps Crispin feel safe enough to let his personality shine? He deserves a home that accepts him as he is today and gives him the patience and support to grow. Story
    Trevor, Dash & Rhys York - three little gentlemen looking for their home.   These sweet Yorkie-mix boys (approx. 2 years old, 7–12 pounds) arrived together after a rough start in a hoarding situation. They are still timid and under-socialized, but every week they show more of their true selves: they play with toys, and with one another, and are slowly coming out of their shells.    Each dog would feel safest with another companion animal in their potential home.They are crate trained and settle nicely when they have that safe den.
