Story
Hi! My name is Caelyn. I am very scared girl who has been running for days. I am now safe. Please go slow with me. I take time to warm up to you. I am very sweet and want to lay in your lap to feel safe. I do like any treat you give me. I am fully grown so I am perfect for walks and even car rides. I do fine with other dogs, and with kids. No cats for me because i like to chase them and won't leave them alone. I really want a home that someone will love and care for me properly. To adopt one of our animals, please visit our shelter, open Tuesday-Friday from Noon-6pm and Saturday from Noon-4pm. Her friendly and affectionate nature makes her the perfect companion for anyone seeking a playful and devoted furry friend. Dolly weighs around 33.0 pounds, and we're committed to helping her maintain a healthy weight through proper care and exercise. Story
Meet Cherry 🍒 2 year old, Mixed breed, 30lbs, female Cherry came to us a few months ago after she was abandoned in a parking lot with cardboard box full of newborn pups. Luckily a Good Samaritan picked her up and got her to safety. She had 8 beautiful pups and she was such a good mommy. Now it’s her turn to find a forever home! She is on the submissive side and good with other dogs. She is house trained, although we do think she has never lived indoors with a family. We are working on her confidence and she will need a patient home. Cherry is very sweet and loves her belly rubbed. We believe she may be a Mountain Cur mix. Cherry is now current on vaccines, heart worm tested negative, spay, and microchipped. We are accepting applications at https://form.jotform.com/secondhandpaws/app

Story
America's frontier dog, the Mountain Cur. Anna Grace, DNA tested 100% Mountain Cur ! Anna G is a survivor, upon intake, she was under weight and weak from heart worm; she has fought back and is ready for the next step - adoption. If you consider yourself active and can be a consistent leader through positive reinforcement, she will pay you back over and over again with love and loyalty. Cur breed types are energetic dogs that truly excel in an environment that will challenge their mind and body. Playing games, teaching her to fetch, work agility exercises, brisk walks a couple times a day, this is the call to duty. We are looking for that person or family that has experience in working dogs. Anna Grace is a loyal loving girl, let's not let her go to waste. Adoption fee $150.00

The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
