Story
Meet Ruby! Ruby is a 7yr old Pointer mix with a heart full of love and a soul that's ready to trust again. This beautiful girl was recently returned, through no fault of her own. While change can be hard, every day Ruby shows just how resilient and loving she truly is. Ruby is gentle, perfectly content with long walks, cozy naps, and plenty of belly rubs. She is well past the puppy chaos, house and crate trained, knows a few commands, and good on a leash. Ruby would thrive in an active home with a fenced yard where she can explore, sniff and enjoy life. She would do best in a calm, stable home where she can be the center of attention. Ruby would do best in a home without small children. She has met dog-savvy first graders and done well. After all she's been through, Ruby deserves a second chance at a forever home where she can feel secure and loved. Could that be with you? Apply today to meet this beautiful girl. Ruby is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $125.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.**Meet Oreo!** Oreo is a delightful pointer mix, about a year and a half old, and she’s on the lookout for her furever home! This big sweetheart is the ultimate cuddler, often found nestled on your lap while you work, and she has a playful spirit that will keep you entertained for hours. Just take a look at those adorable spotted paws—she truly is a lady! Oreo thrives on daily adventures and does best with a long walk or training session to keep her happy and engaged. She knows basic commands like sit, paw, leave it, and stay, and she's eager to learn even more! While she’s house trained, she’s still perfecting her recall and leash walking skills. With your patience and time, there's no limit to what this smart girl can achieve! She needs a securely fenced yard since she loves to run. Oreo enjoys spending time at the barn and is comfortable around horses and other barn animals. However, she would do best in a one-pet home. Additionally, she might not be the best fit for families with little kids due to her playful nature. Help us find Oreo the loving home she deserves! Share her story and let’s get her on the path to her best life! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   May 30, 2025, 8:50 pm

Story
Meet Trenton! This good boy is the whole package! He is a mixed breed, best guess English pointer/boxer mix, and no one breed is evident. He is 2-year-old medium sized (55 pound) love bug who is gentle and adores kids. He is house trained. It does not appear he has been taught basic commands, but he should be a quick learner as he learned the doggy door ropes in a single day. The crate is not his favorite. He will go in when bribed with delicious treats and sleep quietly through the night. He mimics the vibe of the house by playing when we are active and snuggling on couch when we are quiet. He also gets along with other dogs, playing or backing off at the appropriate times. As he has settled into his foster home, he has started wrestling with the alpha dog of the house. Trenton deserves someone who will shower him with attention, car rides and rounds of fetch. He is everyone’s best friend, can he be yours? Trenton is neutered and up to date on all vaccines, flea and heartworm medication.

Story
Elsie`s Compatibility:Dogs - Meet & GreetCats - UnknownKids - Yes, 8+Elsie may be a senior dog, but don’t let her age fool you—she’s got plenty of life and love left to give! She arrived at HSHC severely underweight and in rough shape, but with good food, care, and love, she’s thriving and ready to find a family who will cherish her golden years. This sweet girl is smart, well-behaved, and completely potty trained. She knows sit and shake, patiently waits for her food, and will even relax quietly while you eat (with just one gentle reminder). She’s not a barker, except for a few minutes when you leave—just to let you know she’ll miss you.Elsie loves belly rubs, cuddles, and exploring the backyard. She may be mature, but she’s still agile and curious, happily sniffing around and taking in the world. And for a special treat? A few bites of pineapple make her day! ??She’ll do best in a home with kids 8 and up who understand how to be gentle with a senior pup. If you’re looking for a loving, well-mannered, and easygoing companion, Elsie is ready to meet you!
