Story
Our wonderful One-Eared Willie is truly a one-of-a-kind pup. Willie was brought to us after another dog ripped off his ear. That did not stop this clever canine from being full of life and seeking love. This silly goofball has become some of the volunteers’ favorite and knows how to grab everyone’s attention. He is addicted to belly rubs and will happily present his belly all day long to you, your kids, and any other bystanders who happen along. It’s truly delightful to see him throw himself upside-down at your feet, waiting patiently for pettin’s & lovin’s. Whether he’s been good or a little naughty he knows how to draw you in with a quick roll to his back and feet in the air. This boy’s favorite snack: a cheeseburger! He can devour one in the blink of an eye, no chewing required. Quite impressive. Food motivated is an understatement.  Willie is currently our longest-term resident. He has seen many of his kennel mates leave one by one while he sits and wonders when his turn will be next. If you’re looking for a constant companion who plays with enthusiasm then this is your guy. Trust us, Willie is worth it!  Adoption Fee: $200 If you are interested in learning more about or adopting one of our pets, please submit an adoption application here: www.gatewayareahumanesociety.com/application-to-adopt The adoption fee includes your pet's: - Spay/Neuter - Annual Vaccines - Rabies - Microchipping NOTE: A completed application is required for all adoptions and prior to any visitations. We do our best to ensure that the adoptable animals are in the best health possible, but you will need to take your pet to your regular vet to ensure complete health. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  The three amigos (Hank, Harlan and Howie)  were found at the end of a Menifee County rural road down by Cave Run Lake.  They all had skin problems (improved with flea meds) and Hank has a cyst on his chest that was removed.  Howie, Harlan and Hank were all housed together,  and Harlan has been around the foster's other dog, so we know he is friendly with other dogs. Howie and Hank went to rescue but so far no one has stepped up for Harlan.    Harlan is not food aggressive and gets along well with his buddies.  He is a bit shy with people but comes around quickly.  Harlan is a small beautiful hound, weighing around 45 lbs.  He is housebroken with a doggy door.  This pet is now available for adoption to a good and loving home. If you have a lot of love to share with a best friend please adopt one of our wonderful pets.
