Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $200 if picked up in TN, $275 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Gunner believes with his whole heart that the best place in the world is wherever you happen to be. This gentle Mountain Cur mix is about 7.5 months old and weighs 45 pounds, carrying a low-medium energy level with a big, loving heart. He lives for being petted and loved on, and honestly, that would be his whole world if he could get it. He enjoys playing with his foster puppy sibling and lazily chasing a ball, and he is still a little uncoordinated during fetch, which only adds to his charm. He is quiet by nature and sleeps soundly through the night. Gunner is fully housetrained with no accidents in his foster home, and he did well riding in a crate in the car. He is learning to sit for meals and is working on putting his feet up on a retaining wall to get pets instead of jumping, since his enthusiasm for affection sometimes gets the better of him. He is also making great progress on leash walking, and is now confidently walking around the fields near his foster home. He does well with other dogs and has shown curiosity toward the goats, though his intentions there are still a bit of a mystery. Gunner is not a good fit around chickens as he has shown stalking behavior toward them. Gunner would thrive in a home where he gets to be involved in everyday family life and stay close to his people, he truly is a velcro dog at heart. A fenced yard is strongly recommended to keep him safe and happy. If you are looking for an affectionate, gentle dog who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Gunner would love to meet you. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. October 15, 2026, 4:50 pm

Story
My name is Tucker. I am a big, lovable, and goofy puppy. I love nothing more than to get love and cuddles from my human. I also love to play outside. I am crate trained and almost completely potty trained.I would do well in a home with another dog my size. Because I am a big puppy, I wouldn't be a good fit in a household with small children. Although I love my foster home, I can't wait to find my furever home. I am being fostered in the Huntsville, AL area but am available to the right home via transport. I am neutered, up to date on vaccines, and on heartworm prevention. Apply at https://forrescue.net

Story
Sinbad is a handsome, approximately 9-year-old mix of Rhodesian Ridgeback and Mountain Cur, weighing about 75 pounds Sinbad has spent his entire life on a horse farm surrounded by animals and family. He has lived with horses, cats, chickens, and another dog with whom he gets along well. He’s comfortable around horses, although he does enjoy trying to chase the chickens and cats if given the opportunity.   Sinbad loves being outside. Playing fetch and Frisbee are some of his favorite activities, and he always enjoys going for walks. As he’s gotten older, he’s become even more affectionate. A true definition of a lap dog, he loves hard. He absolutely loves attention from his people and will happily roll onto his back for belly rubs and cuddles. He especially enjoys relaxing in bed with the adults in the house and simply being close to his family.   Sinbad has grown up with four children and, for many years, showed incredible patience as they played with him, hugged him, and climbed all over him. As he’s entered his senior years, however, he prefers a quieter lifestyle and has less tolerance for the constant activity that comes with a busy household of young children.   One thing that’s important to know about Sinbad is that he has always displayed some resource-guarding tendencies with high-value items like his balls, toys, and bones. Once he’s finished playing fetch and takes his ball to settle down, he prefers to be left alone with it. Because of this, he would do best with owners who understand canine body language and are willing to simply give him his space when he has something he considers valuable.   His present family has grown over the years, and with children now ages 2, 4, 9, and 11, his home has become much busier than it was when Sinbad was younger. While he still craves attention and affection, he no longer enjoys the constant hustle and bustle. Now,  he deserves a quieter home where he can be the center of someone’s world again.   Sinbad would thrive in an adult-only home or one with older, dog-savvy children who understand and respect his boundaries. He would make a wonderful companion for a single person, couple, or retired family looking for a loyal, loving dog to share their days with. He has so much love to give and simply wants a peaceful home where he can enjoy walks, snuggles, belly rubs, and all the attention he deserves.   (posted 4/5/26, RH)  Adoption Fee:  $100.00  October 15, 2026, 4:08 pm
