She has only lived in a kennel, instead of doing the hunting she would rather run in the woods and play, so she needs to be a pet. He does resource guard high value items (such as treats, food or anything seen as high value), so some extra perceptions around other dogs or young children is needed. Xena is a 3-year-old Plott Hound mix weighing 52 pounds. A delightful girl, she came to us from a family who didn't want her or her ten puppy litter. How sad! But of course that's where we came in. Xena's foster says she is sweet, affectionate, playful, great with other dogs and very food motivated. (Better keep a box of bones around the house!) The Louisa Humane Society does not have a brick and mortar facility, so all of our pets are in foster care. Once approved, the foster parent will reach out to arrange a visit. The foster family can tell you all about her likes, dislikes, and little quirks.
