Story
This is a sweet girl ready to find her own home. She is fun but is a bit shy at first. She should have no problems learning a new routine. She is in a foster home trying to learn how to be in a house and how to get along with cats. She will need a yard or activities to stay busy per her breed mix. She has done well on a leash, she feels more comfortable if there is another dog along. She is a happy, friendly girl who would be a wonderful companion for any family. Located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

Story
Meet our handsome and spunky Dayton!! This handsome 4 year old Plott Hound mix came in as a stray, we were convinced someone must have been missing him as awesome as he is but sadly no one ever came for him! Dayton may have started off as a stray, but he's now ready to find his forever home. And let us tell you, he's been working hard on his leash walking skills and is doing a paw-some job! This active boy loves to go on adventures and would make the perfect companion for someone with an active lifestyle. But don't let his busy schedule fool you, Dayton is a true best friend. He's affectionate, charming, and loves to cuddle. His curious and intelligent nature makes him a quick learner, and he's always eager to please his humans. Dayton has done well with the dogs he has met here at the shelter! Sure, Dayton may still be learning some household routines like potty training, but we all have our quirks, right? With some patience and love, he'll catch on quickly. Dayton has been neutered, microchipped and Heartworm tested. We have updated all vaccines including rabies. She has been given a dewormer and started on flea/tick prevention. To Apply for Adoption/Foster please copy and paste the following link: https://orangecountyva.gov/158/Animal-Shelter

Story
****AVAILABLE FOR FOSTER/FOSTER TO ADOPT AFTER 3/4** TESTED POSITIVE FOR HEARTWORMS AND HAS BEGUN THE TREATMENT PROTOCOL**** **QUIET LOW ACTIVITY WHILE SHE UNDERGOES TREATMENT!!!!!!!* Meet Astrid, a 3 ½-year-old Plott Hound mix that came in a very scared stray! No one ever came for her and now she is ready to find a loving FOREVER home! When Astrid first arrived, she was understandably shut down and frightened. But with the right care, time, and, of course, treats, she’s slowly but surely opened up and discovered the joy of human companionship. Now, she’s a goofy and loving pup who’s ready to enjoy all the fun and comfort that come with being part of a family. Once comfortable, Astrid loves to show off her silly side, chasing after toys, rolling in the grass, or just enjoying some good old-fashioned playtime with her favorite humans. Astrid has done well with the dogs she’s met, and she would likely thrive in a home with another dog who can help show her the ropes and give her the confidence she needs. As with all adoptions Meet and Greets are required with any dogs Astrid will be living with! She will need time to adjust to new environments and people. Once she’s built that trust, Astrid’s true, loving self shines through, and she’ll be your loyal companion for life. Astrid was a stray so patience as she settles into a new home and routines is a must. She will need guidance and positive reinforcement as she learns all the household routines!!!! Astrid has been spayed and microchipped. We have updated all vaccines including rabies. She has been given a dewormer and started on flea/tick prevention. Heartworm tested (POSITIVE) To Apply for Adoption/Foster please copy and paste the following link: https://orangecountyva.gov/158/Animal-Shelter

Story
Xena is a 3-year-old Plott Hound mix weighing 52 pounds. A delightful girl, she came to us from a family who didn't want her or her ten puppy litter. How sad! But of course that's where we came in. Xena's foster says she is sweet, affectionate, playful, great with other dogs and very food motivated. (Better keep a box of bones around the house!) This girl who has been treated for heartworm would make a great addition to your family! "You can read more about Xena's story here: https://www.crossingpathsanimalrescue.org/rescue-stories/mom-knows-best (posted 11/1/25, ME) Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. **November 1, 2025, 11:58 am

Story
Remember Noah? Noah came to us from our local shelter, where he spent about 4 months there hiding under his dog bed! Now, he's thriving in a life-saving, foster home! Noah is a petite, plott hound mix who weighs about 35-40 pounds and is about 2-3years old. He's still scared of loud noises and needs a securely fenced yard and a least one other playful dog for him to be comforted by. Noah loves playing with the other dogs in his foster home. He is crate trained and building confidence every day but will need a patient family who understands that he is going to be scared when he moves to a new home. Noah is a special guy who deserves the best of furEVER homes! And we are ready to help him find it! Can you be the happy ending that Noah has been waiting for?
