Story
Warden is 8 years old and has been with us for 7 years. He spent the first year of his life in a shelter, returned multiple times likely due to his high energy, anxiety, and rough play. Over the years he has calmed down significantly, but still loves long walks and being wherever his people are. He likes to sneak onto the bed at night and cuddles in the mornings. He loves hiking and being off-leash outside when it's safe. He has some kind of working breed in him, he does well with routines. We were ignorant when we adopted him of how much training was needed for a dog like Warden. He's very nervous around strangers. He jumps on/at unfamiliar people (and especially does not like elderly people), barks at "intruders", has some leash aggression, food aggression, and protects den-like spaces. He may lunge at or snap at unfamiliar people or children who "threaten" these resources. Our home with kids is stressful for him. I believe there may be a better home for him out there.
