Story
Harlem is such a sweet boy who had a hard start to life. A year and a half ago we rescued Harlem from a shelter in Grand Junction. They told us that his past owners kept him locked in a kennel 90% of the time. He was very thin when he got there. He wasn't loved for or cared for. He is a very protective dog. He likes to meet new people, but he will happy pee everywhere. He will comfort you when your emotional. He does have lots of energy, so a yard would be a good thing, but he will settle down and chill as well. He is a good listener. He needs training. He isn't trained on the leash, and he is a hand bitter. But in a playful way. He has been the best family dog! Unfortunately we have to rehome him because my health is declining and I'm needing a major surgery and won't be able to care for him. Im hoping he finds a home he can run and be happy in. A forever home.

Story
Elsie is an energetic, highly intuitive, loving, and deeply loyal velcro dog rescued from Texas in 2023 and was welcomed home in Golden, Colorado in 2024. She thrives on routine, adventure, and companionship — excelling at dog parks, creek splashing, long walks, and couch cuddles in equal measure. She's great with other dogs and children and adapts well to busy households. Her primary challenge is separation anxiety, which can cause barking, howling, and occasional accidents when left alone for long periods of time. Her new family should be home most of the day, committed to working on her separation anxiety, and patient with any other training she may need. Elsie is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, house-trained, and knows basic commands. She doesn't need a perfect home — she needs a devoted one.

Story
Magoo is a sweet, loving, and goofy 7 year old mutt who was rescued from Texas. She loves to curl up and snuggle with a movie. She is food and reward motivated and loves a structured routine and enrichment. She knows a lot of commands and loves a good training session. Magoo does get timid and fearful at times. She doesn't love fireworks and is hesitant when meeting new people. Once she knows you she will be your best friend. Magoo does well with other dogs, but cannot live with a cat. She is okay with kids and has been fine to my son. She is a very healthy dog, who only goes to the vet for wellness exams. My son was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. The long hospital stays are stressing her out and we cannot give her the daily attention she needs. Overall she is an amazing dog, she just need a home that can give her consistent love, enrichment, and predictability. She is a great dog, we just are not the right family for her during this challenging chapter of our lives.

Story
This is Chip, he's a 1 year old mutt born in January 2025. I've had him since he was a baby, sadly I am looking for someone to take him in as I'm moving. Chip loves to cuddle and play tug of war, and eat treats. He has his 2 favorite toys (turtle and dinosaur) that he plays with. He is also up to date on all his shots. I'm not sure he's good with other dogs as he's only been friends with 1 dog, we have attempted the dog parks several times and he won't engage in other dogs, he's very shy when meeting new dogs. He's a mixture of miniature pinscher, shih tzu, chihuahua, pomeranian, dachshund, and Yorkie

Story
Meet Ginger, a 6-year-old mixed-breed sweetheart! At 28 pounds, she’s the perfect medium size—small enough for cozy living but sturdy enough for adventures. Ginger is athletic, loves fetch, and would thrive with someone who enjoys the outdoors. After a day of fun, she’s happy soaking up sunshine, chewing a bone, or cuddling under a blanket with her favorite person. She loves adults and enjoys meeting visitors, though she may bark at first. Ginger would do best as the only pet in an adult-only home. She is exceptionally well-trained through the Colorado prison dog training program and is fully house-trained, crate-trained, great on leash, and knows commands including sit, stay, and heel. Training records are available, and her adopter will have access to continued training support through the program. Ginger is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, in excellent health, and will come with her kennel, bed, toys, food, and supplies.
