Story
Meet Bear (he loves being called bear bear!) we found him in beech grove near churchman ave. We will keep him until he finds a home but we can’t give him the sole attention this cuddle teddy bear needs! We think he is between 6 months to a year. He’s so sweet and gets so jazzed when we come home or when he forgets we are home and sees us. he’s going very well at listening with training. He knows sit, wait, and lay down (but continued work is needed because this baby boy didn’t get any training before we don’t think) he is VERY food motivated the poor guy just salivates when he sees treats. he’s absolutely amazing with my little siblings and does ok with our dogs, but as a stray he can get a little overwhelmed and would probably be best in a 1-2 dog home with other couch potato’s such as himself. He does very well being in a kennel. We keep him in our spare room and he hasn’t torn anything up. He has had a few messes in the home but with a routine and training he’ll do amazing in time.

Story
Our family has had a lot of upheaval this summer, and we are not able to care for Archer as we would like. To be sure he gets to a good home, we are asking for a $35 adoption fee, but that includes 1) his extra large dog crate; 2) his dog bed; 3) a plastic rolling dog food container; 4) about a month's worth of food; 5) his dog toys; 6) his toothbrush, hairbrush, and shampoo. We want him to have an easy transition to a new home! Archer was a rescue dog, and was attacked by another dog early in his life, so he is deeply afraid of other dogs. He is a sweet dog, but does better with calm and predictable situations, so young kids might not be a great fit. He is five years old (April 2021 was the guess when we adopted him) but still has a lot of energy, so he needs someone who can either take him on walks (and control him -- he is 100 pounds!) or a yard to run in. He is house trained, crate trained, and can do basic commands like sit, down, and shake.

Story
Sally Mae is looking for her forever home.Sally Mae is a very special dog who spent the last several years as the devoted companion to a wonderful, retired man who loved her completely. Her owner recently passed away, and she is now heartbroken and looking for a soft place to land.Sally Mae’s journey to finding her person was one of complete chance. She started out living on the road in a semi-truck with a driver who loved her, but realized she needed more room to run. He gave her to a family of 6, but due to unforeseen financial hardships, they were unable to keep her. That is when she found my dad.My dad was a retired single man who dedicated his life to rescuing animals in need. Alongside Sally Mae, he shared his home and heart with 4 rescued cats.Due to this tragic loss, her world has been turned upside again. She is a loyal sweet soul who has already known too much transition, yet she has so much love left to give. We want nothing more than to ensure she finds a true forever home.

Story
Uma was rescued when she was around 2 years old. She has been such an amazing dog. Uma is now 8 or 9 years old. She is still full of energy and needs a home that has the time and space to play with her. She does best in a fenced in yard and as a solo dog. She also is a huge cuddler! She loves to get cozy on top of a blanket and cuddle up right next to you. That makes her a great companion. Uma is also good with kids and others. She can be good with other dogs, but needs to be slowly integrated with someone who has experience with this. She has gotten along with an elder dog and puppies she lived with. Uma is a great dog, and we only are rehoming because our toddler is allergic and has severe asthma that has led to several hospitalization. This decision wasn’t taken lightly, but we need to eliminate as many factors contributing to the asthma so we do not have to go through seeing her struggling so hard to breathe again. Happy to chat more for those interested in her companionship!
