Story
Malu is a 4 month old male puppy. We are unsure of his breed; possibly a lab/pit bull mix. He was neglected and ultimately abandoned by his original owner when he was only 5 weeks old. I have been taking care of him since, but due to my living situation, I cannot keep him permanently. He is very friendly and playful; he gets along well with both humans and other dogs. He is potty trained and crate trained. He knows some basic commands, such as sit. He does not have any major behavioral issues, but he can be a bit energetic and rambunctious at times. He is a good companion and would be a great addition to your family.

Story
Luna is a rescue. She got to BARCS when she was 8 months old and was adopted by our family at 9 months. She had a ruff start to life but she has flourished at our home. She's super smart (mastering any brain game in record time), energetic, and very playful. She loves everyone and just wants to be cuddled and given belly rubs. Luna loves to go on walks but her favorite thing to do is run at top speed trying to catch the neighborhood squirrels. With time she has gotten better on leash, knows many commands, and has a curious personality. She will fit perfectly with someone who has an active life, loves long walks, plays hide & seek (she's a master at finding anyone or anything) and can spend time letting her get all the energy out. At almost 3 years old, she has become the most loyal, loving and adorable companion.

Gracie was rescued in Georgia. She is 6 years old. She should be in a home with no other animals. She does not get along with other dogs. Otherwise, she is very cuddly and sweet. She is a loyal dog and needs lots of space to exercise and run.

Story
Bella is a gentle, mild‑mannered 15‑year‑old dog who loves walks, treats, and FreshPet food. She’s great with cats and responds best to loud voices or whistles due to her hearing loss. Bella has severe food sensitivities and can only eat FreshPet; other foods cause uncontrollable diarrhea. She is also fully incontinent and cannot tell when she needs to go, often urinating in her sleep or when relaxed. She needs to be let outside about every two hours and drinks a lot of water because of age‑related kidney decline. Bella is a sweet senior who needs a patient, understanding home that can support her special needs. With the right care, she can enjoy a comfortable and loving final chapter. If you have a doggie door where she can go in and out, this would be great for her. If you live on a farm or have a huge yard where she can run around and "go" as often as she likes, that would be a great home for her. If you live in an apartment/condo/townhome with no yard this would not be ideal.

Story
Bo is a hesitant boy, he takes a little to warm up to you but once he does, he is a sweetheart who loves to snuggle. He is good with small or low energy dogs, but not a fan of big or high energy friends. Bo is staying at Arnold Pet Station - a veterinary hospital and boarding facility located in Arnold, MD. He was recently surrendered by an elderly woman who became ill and could no longer take care of him. He was already boarding with us, so we offered to take him in and find a good home for him and she agreed. He is now under our custody and is doing great, but we want to find him a comfy home where he can get constant love for the rest of his life. One thing to note is that Bo has Cushing's disease and requires medication twice a day. He will also need to get his blood checked at least twice a year. He is such a sweet dog and we hope to find him a loving home soon. Please reach out if you are interested in meeting Bo or want to learn more about him.

Story
Meet Coco, a 1.5-year-old beagle mix with a heart full of enthusiasm and a nose that never quits. Weighing about 45 lbs, Coco is the perfect blend of playful energy and affectionate charm. Coco is naturally goofy, curious, and treat-motivated — which makes training fun and rewarding for both of you. He’s already house-trained, knows some basic commands, and walks well on leash (though he can be a bit of a strong puller when he catches an exciting scent… which, as a beagle mix, is pretty often!). With a little positive reinforcement and a pocket full of treats, Coco will gladly show off how smart he is. He’s very social with other dogs and loves group play once he feels comfortable. Coco bonds quickly with humans — treats are his love language — and once you earn his trust, he’ll stick by your side. Because we haven’t had the chance to test him with cats or kids, we recommend a proper introduction if his future adopter has either. This happy boy is full of playful energy! Coco would thrive in a home with: Active parents or teens, a moderately playful dog friend (not required, but he’d love it!), and/or someone who enjoys walks, playtime, and continuing basic training.
