Story
Happy is a 3(ish)year old Hound mix (I have completed a DNA test and am comfortable sharing results, it’s just a lot). He currently lives with a toddler and 2 other dogs. He loves snuggles and attention - thinks he’s quite the lap dog! What Happy needs is more space. He does SO well with dogs in the home and in the backyard but really struggles when seeing dogs passing by our fence or dogs on a leash. It has led to him jumping our fence. He would do well with a tall fence or someone with land. He also will benefit from an experienced owner who has time to put into training him. I have done as much as I can with a shock collar and leash training, but I have a full time job and a toddler so the time has become limited. He is SO loving and has such a huge personality, I just am restrained in the opportunities that I can offer him. I did get him from a shelter where he had spent all of his life, so there might be trauma there leading to some of his reactions.

Story
I adopted Marley a little over two years ago when she was about eight months old, so she’ll be three years old this fall! She’s the cutest thing — one ear sticks up (yes, the tippy tip of her ear is missing) and the other lays down. She’s an incredibly sweet girl, and her favorite place is with her human. We’ve been navigating some reactivity issues lately — completed a long board and train program. She knows commands, some tricks and does well on a leash. She does prefer to keep her distance from other dogs and cats. She’s okay with kids, but their unpredictability can be overwhelming for her. She’s a water dog — loves puddles, lakes and puppy pools — loves to play fetch, and loves to sleep cuddled up in bed with her person/people! She would do best in an adult only house with humans that can spend time stimulating and loving her.

Aurora

Mutt

Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Aurora is an incredibly smart and sweet companion. We have chickens, cats, kids, and other dogs and she gets along with all of them very well. That being said, she does have a strong prey-drive and has killed pheasants, rabbits, and gophers. She was attacked by another dog when she was a puppy, so that has caused her to be unpredictable with unfamiliar dogs. We have two other dogs who she absolutely loves and has never had a single issue with. She also exhibits resource-guarding, or food aggression. This is not the case with regular daily food, but is with bones, food she finds, things like that. It has never been directed at humans, and is limited to growling with our other dogs and cat. This is likely something that could be fixed with training, but we do not have the understanding nor the experience it takes to address these issues, and we have a newborn so we simply don’t have the time to give her the attention she deserves to adjust her behaviors before the baby is mobile.

Story
Rescued 4 years ago as a puppy, Ziggy is a sweet, curious pup who loves walks, tug-of-war, and proudly shredding his plush toys (he leaves everything else alone!). He uses a gentle leader to help manage his enthusiasm for squirrels, sticks, and new sights. With his adorable face and affectionate personality, Ziggy is happiest curled up next to someone he loves. He can be a little shy at first and may need a moment (or a few treats) to warm up, but he’s eager to please and forms strong bonds. Ziggy would thrive as an only pet, though he generally gets along well with other dogs, and with patience, he can continue building confidence around new people and experiences. Ziggy would make the perfect companion to anyone looking for a sweetie pie to add to their home!

(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)

Good with kids, Good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Wallace came to us as a rescue 4 years ago from a farm where he was abandoned by his mother who had been mistreated and the woners had stopped feeding her. He was a tiny puppy, full of life and wonder and no health issues unlike his brother who we also adopted. Wallace eventually grew into his ears.and his big paws! His birthday is April 9th, he will be 4 years old as of this April 2026. He's always been a good hunter of sorts, loves to chaise squirrels especially when able to :) He loves to run, he has a long gate when he gets going and can cover lots of ground. We was originally crate trained when we first adopted him but since relocating to Minneapolis he has not used his crate, but he was very good about going into the crate for sleep at night. He is a.tall dog so you have to be careful about leaving food on counters.as he'll enjoy a snack if he can reach it lol. He does really well on walking in the city when we incorporate the gentle leader, this helps keep him from pulling.
