Story

This was my mom's dog. We got him in in 2012. He was around 6-8 months old. My mother passed away in 2018, and I've tried to keep him, but as of late, we are just not home enough. More recently, we were told we have to move, and the new places we are looking at do not accept dogs. He's about 13 or 14, we aren't sure how old, honestly, as we got him from a lady on Craigslist. He was originally with 2 other dogs, but they have since passed away. He does do well with my cats, but is not a huge fan. He's lovable, wants to cuddle but a little temperamental as he's gotten older, so his being by himself in an adult home would be best. He was with other dogs but he had been with them forever. Any new dogs he was not good with. I wish I didn't have to do this, but it's our only option at this point.

Hi! My name is Benny. I live with my mom, dad, two kids, and my litter mate. I am 3 yrs old and came from Puerto Rico as a stray. I am insecure and shy but I LOVE my people. My brother and I don’t get along like we used to, mom says we are better apart. My human kids are also getting bigger & way too energetic for me. I get stressed by them & would rather not be around kids. I would love a home with no young kids or other dogs. I am house & crate trained & know my basic obedience. A fenced yard is required. I love walks and hikes and chasing chipmunks or squirrels. Fetching sticks is also awesome. Otherwise I’ll be napping in any spot of sun I can find. With lots of positive reinforcement, structure, and patience I will open up and feel relaxed. I promise to love you and give the best hugs.
