Toby Needs a Foster or Adopter by March 14, 2026 to Secure His Ride to Wisconsin
Toby is currently in a foster home in Arkansas and needs a FOSTER or ADOPTER to secure his
spot on the 3/14 transport from Arkansas to Cedarburg, WI with Mutt Life Dog Rescue. A
committed home is required for him to make the trip, and we’re hopeful the right person is out
there.
Meet Toby
Toby is an approximately 2-3-year-old, 50-pound male who is ready for a fresh start. He was
found as a stray and ended up in a kill shelter before being rescued. Toby is now in a foster
home where he is thriving and showing what a good boy he truly is. Toby is not currently being
fostered with cats, but he does great with the 2 little yorkies and pet rabbits in his foster home.
They say he is quiet and never barks.
He has a sweet, gentle, and friendly personality and enjoys being around people. Toby is dog
friendly and great with kids, making him a wonderful fit for many types of households. He is
house trained, neutered, and heartworm negative, so he’s ready to settle into a forever home
with ease.
Toby is calm, affectionate, and eager to bond with his humans. He loves attention, enjoys
companionship, and is sure to make a loyal and loving family member.

ADOPTION PROCESS:
1.) Apply: Fill out an adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents.
2.) Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email.
3.) Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: After approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5-day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit.
4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue.
5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process, we conduct a home visit either in person or via Zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have.
6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. The procedure MUST be done at HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI, or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, we will reimburse $150 once we receive proof of the procedure. We recommend spay/neuter around 6 months old.
**Note: Adoptions are not considered final until the dog is neutered/spayed if applicable**
