Story
Bonita came to us from extended family who struggled with her reactivity. After a few months here, she’s doing great with my two large dogs and is very affectionate with familiar people. She thinks she is a lap dog and will try to smother you with love every chance she can get. She wasn’t properly socialized, so new people, places, and situations can be scary, and she needs slow, patient introductions.She’s made solid progress with line work, sit, potty training, muzzle training, and meeting new people safely. She plays well with both my 18‑month‑old and 12‑year‑old Plott hounds and we'd love play dates. We’re unsure how she does with small animals or children.She’ll go home with her crate, bowls, food container, leash, harness, muzzle, and other supplies. A small rehoming fee applies to ensure she goes to a committed home. If things don’t work out, we’d prefer she come back to us rather than be rehomed elsewhere. Please give this sweet girl a chance if you feel it could be a match!

Story
Pinot is a very sweet girl who found herself in an unfortunate situation which was not her fault. She was scheduled for euthanasia before I (her veterinarian) volunteered to foster her. Please contact me for details. She is amazing with people and kids- very sweet. Would do best in a home with no other dogs but we are working with a veterinary behavioralist to help get her used to my dog and she is improving. My dog is a senior and also dog reactive so they need to be separated which stresses them both out. Pinot loves to cuddle and get lots of attention. She will snuggle right up next to you. She is house trained, crate trained, and muzzle trained. Her favorite snack is apples. I cannot express how truly amazing she is. Her last family included a 12 year old boy who she loved very much. She’s great with kids- unsure about cats. If you have any questions, please let me know! She’s sad when we have to leave her by herself at night and would love a cuddle buddy. She was on the news!

Gunther is a sweet and playful two-year-old mixed breed who has lived with us since he was 10 weeks old. I am no longer able to care for him due to work travel and household changes.Gunther is:• Fully house trained• Up to date on all vaccinations• Friendly with other dogs and playful with cats• Enjoys long walks and playing ball in the backyardHe is generally a calm boy who sleeps much of the day, but he definitely gets the zoomies in the morning and at night! While he is sweet, his food guarding and anxiety mean he would do best in a home without young children. He handles crating well when needed for travel or boarding.Rehoming fee: $0

Story
We rescued Mr. Cookies from a rescue in McHenry, IL in 2022. Hes unfortunately been difficult to train and I and my step son have developed some severe allergies. He’s sweet and loves to be cuddled but is not good with other dogs. He’s very high energy and would do well with a family that has more time to train him. He’s been great with my cat and my kids otherwise.
