She and another dog in the home got into a fight which was initiated by the other dog and an 11-year-old attempted to step in and received puncture marks on the elbow, however no one is totally sure which dog grabbed the youth once and released as everything happened quickly. Capri will be 3 years old in January and has been very well taken care of. She is up to date on all vaccines, spayed and recently had cherry eye removal and entropion surgery. Crate trained, leash trained and has completed obedience training from 6 to 12 months old. Capri loves taking walks and spending time at the lake with her family. She is leery of dogs that are larger in size to her but has been around other dogs that she doesn’t live with. Although, one of her friends in the home is a rescue cat, this doesn’t mean she will get along with others. The family takes full responsibility as to what happened and are truly heartbroken. At this point they feel the best decision is to find her another home. We ask that negative comments be kept to yourselves and you put that effort into helping Capri. He is sweet and sassy, housebroken, has learned how to delicately take treats, manners when it comes to eating, and learning how to trust people. He loves his Vet but protective of his home, just like any good Neo should be. His only downfall is he does not do well with other dogs. So there will be no exceptions, RINALDO WILL BE THE ONLY PET IN THE HOME. A quiet home in the country is the perfect forever for our handsome boy. Please meet Rinaldo. An approximately 2 year old blue Neapolitan Mastiff. He found himself in a Houston Texas high kill shelter being brought in as a stray. A caring person in Arkansas saw his post which reminded her of a dog she owned and passed away. Having no idea he was a Neapolitan Mastiff had him shipped to her. When he arrived she realized she was not equipped to care for him. On June 29th, 2025, Rinaldo arrived at his foster home in Virginia. He is heart worm positive and his slow kill treatment has already started. His rear end is being treated for the flea infestation he suffered from. Underweight at just 118 pounds his foster will definitely be putting groceries on that solid Mastino frame. He knows sit and down but his leash manners surely need to be worked on which our foster is more than experienced to handle. We know he rides well in a vehicle and seems to be a happy boy. Hello folks: My name is Bandit and I am a 7 year 4 month old brindle, female, Neapolitan/ dogue de Bordeaux mix, and I am looking for my forever home, complete with forever hooman. I am what the hoomans here call “ large”, and can range from 61 to 100 lbs. Once I get used to someone, I am the biggest love bug ever! It does, however, take me a little time. You know how it is when you go to a new place. New place, new people. Even though the hoomans here describe me as being a real doll, I do better as a solo animal. I’m also looking for someone with no kids and who is an adopter with prior experience. My hooman also needs to be someone who is prepared to give me attention when I want it, but yet is experienced enough to give me space when I need it. Our Royal Mastino, Livia, is doing well in her experienced foster home, but continues to dream of a family and home of her own. Princess Livia (as she prefers to be called) is a fit 3 years old typical strong willed female Neapolitan Mastiff. She balances out her play time with heavily snoring napping. Preferably somewhere with a soft bed or thick blanket. Livia is housebroken and crate trained, though she will give you side-eye if the crate contains insufficient treats to lure her in. She is indeed a princess. Her ideal home would have a large male dog to play with and a fenced yard. Livia loves to patrol her yard snuffling and watching for anything new going on in her neighborhood. She is learning there is enough food and human attention in her foster homes so that she doesn't need to resource guard. She loves belly rubs, rump scratches and neck wrinkle massages and doesn't hesitate to request them from her favorite people. Due to her forward attitude and roughness Livia needs to be the ONLY PET in the household, NO EXCEPTIONS. She is learning leash manners as she is very strong on the leash when distracted. Livia is a lovely girl that bonds quickly with whomever she claims as her person. Finally, a couple took her in to try and get her the right home on social media. When that didn't work they came to Mastino Rescue, Inc., to help and find her a home. She has been spayed and on 8/13/24 she had her cherry eye surgery removal. Anita is a great girl, loves her male foster but it took a couple days for her to warm up to her female foster.
