Story
Tank has been with us his whole life. We were going to keep him for our special needs son therapy dog but he has gotten too big and has too much energy to be qualified for the role. I recently did 2 weeks of board and train where he learned to walk in a lead well, respect the kennel and learn how to calm down but he needs a lot more love and work. Our family is going through a very tough time and will be moving in the near future so I am hoping to find a good foster or adopter for tank. I can provide info of the trainer who has done the foundation work with him and can share info on him. Please let me know if you or someone you know may be interested.

Story
How this pet arrived: Kona was brought in by her previous owner on December 6, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Kona! This gorgeous brindle girl is as sweet and loyal as they come. She's been a bit fearful in our care, but with slow introductions and patience, her warm, affectionate side truly shines. Once she feels safe, Kona is the kind of pup who loves soaking up pets, riding shotgun on car adventures, and enjoying a breezy day at the beach. Kona is both crate trained and potty trained, giving her a great head start in her new home. She has done well with other dogs out and about, but she prefers not to share her favorite people - so she's looking to be the only dog in the home. Any kids in the household will need to meet her ahead of time to ensure it's a great fit for everyone. If you're looking for a loyal companion who just needs a little time to blossom, Kona may be your perfect match. At SDHS:Kona has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Kona is now ready for her new home!Shy/Fearful Dog: This pet requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Primary Color: Brindle Weight: 60.4 Age: 3yrs 6mths 0wks

Story
How this pet arrived: Pickles was brought in by his previous owner on August 16, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Pickles is a smart cookie wrapped in a fluffy package - and just like his name, he's got a little tang! This clever boy can be shy when meeting new people and prefers a slow, gentle introduction. He's not a fan of too much handling or sharing his favorite snacks, so he's hoping to find a calm, lower-traffic home where he can feel secure. Pickles can be vocal around new people and other dogs, so he'd do best in a home without small children (ages 12+ only, and they must be present for the meet-and-greet). He's also quite selective with canine friends and would likely thrive as the only dog in the household. If there's a potential dog roommate, a meet-and-greet at the shelter will be required. Once Pickles feels safe and comfortable, his true personality shines - playful, active, and incredibly bright! He loves mental challenges and will excel in a home that can keep his mind busy with games, training, and positive reinforcement. Pickles is used to spending more time outdoors, so a secure yard would help him adjust to home life. With patience, consistency, and understanding, he'll reward you with his loyalty, affection, and one-of-a-kind charm. If you're looking for a brainy, unique companion who just needs a little time and love to blossom, Pickles At SDHS:Pickles has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Pickles is now ready for his new home! Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Black Weight: 74.8 Age: 2yrs 7mths 2wks
