Story
Luna is an Anatolian Sheperd with we believe so to have greyhound as her body is developing and sosimilar to them. She is current about 70 lbs, She has a sweet temperament with everyone, loves people and she is being fostered with cats and dogs of all sizes and ages. She is 12 months old. Luna will be ideal as a running partner, hiking, camping; a sweet giant lyon, who loves to kiss you. She has received her core puppy vaccinations, dewormed, and spayed/neutered. Her human parent cannot take care of them any longer; she is sick and wants the best for them. Please open your home and hearts to our sweet and amazing mama girl:) Please contact us at 619-576-0747 as 1st type of contact or email veronica.aaofus@gmail.com or visit our website at www.aaofus.org and complete our application at the following link: http://aaofus.org/adoption-application.html . If approved, the adoption coordinator will reach out to you to schedule a Meet-and-Greet appointment. No appointments will be made unless we have received an application; therefore, we can match you with the best fit for you. Follow us on Instagram@aaofus where you can see more pics. Please allow 48 hours to process applications and respond back to set up appointments. Unfortunately, responses back to those who do not qualify are not possible due to high volume of applications. Donation Adoption fee includes up-to-date their 3 core puppy DHLPP vaccinations, spaying or neutering, deworming, flea medication, and a complementary health check up by a participating clinic near you. Please consider adopting one (or more!) of these fur babies! Due to high volume of calls; NO PHONE calls are accepted at this time - therefore, please text us or email us.- A minute of conscious - Please read:) We ask you Please to be SERIOUS adopters; as there have been so many people that are not ready. We set up meet & greet appointments, do a home visit or send them the address for some meet & greet locations, paperwork and suddenly they said they are not ready or spouse is not ready, etc. These fur kids have a very hard day the day of their appointment. Due to travelling we hold their food, so they won't get car sick. We bath them, some of them are schedule for grooming as you know it is stressful for them; then they have to travel with us picking up other rescued fur kids, and so on, it is a very stressful hard day for them for people to just cancel at last minute or not show up or do show up and just say they are not ready. Our time as well as your time is valuable. Please don't waste valuable time that is so precious for a rescued pet. Every single wasted time is a time that an animal will die because we didn't get to them on time to help them. In addition, of wasting gas and grooming fees which are paid by volunteers. Please take the time to put your shoes in the shoes of the volunteer and most of it to put your shoes on our rescued fur kids!! Please take a minute to tell yourself if you are ready to adopt and for this commitment. LIVE!! LOVE!! LAUGH!! ADOPT A RESCUED HOMELESS PET AND SAVE A LIFE!! Less

How Orion arrived:Orion was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on May 1, 2026. Why Orion is the one for you:Orion is a big-hearted country boy who is looking for patient adopters who understand that trust is something earned, not rushed. Having spent much of his life outdoors, he is still learning that new people, close handling and unfamiliar situations can be safe and rewarding. He can be reserved when first meeting someone and appreciates the opportunity to approach at his own pace, but once a connection is built, his affectionate and playful personality truly shines. Orion enjoys walks, exploring with his nose, carrying toys proudly and leaning into pets from the people he knows and trusts. He has shown that he is most comfortable when given choices and gentle encouragement, and he continues to make wonderful progress as he forms positive associations with new experiences. True to his name, Orion can do it all with a little patience and understanding - blossoming into a loyal companion who loves spending time with his favorite people. He will thrive in a calm, low-traffic home with adopters committed to helping him build confidence, respecting his boundaries and celebrating each success along the way. Come meet this sweet pup today! At SDHS:Orion has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Orion is now ready for adoption! Story
How this pet arrived:Venus was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on May 1, 2026. Why this pet is the one for you:Venus is a sensitive gal looking for her new home! She is still learning how to "dog," including playing with toys, and would thrive with a patient adopter willing to continue positive-reinforcement training to help her build confidence at her own pace. Once she feels comfortable in her surroundings, you'll discover she is a stellar companion who can be loose, wiggly, and affectionate with gentle petting. She is looking for a gravity-defying bond in a calm, quiet, predictable home with another dog, children ages 8+ who can follow coaching, and all household members present for a meet-and-greet. Because novelty and busy environments can be overwhelming, Venus prefers to stay close to her home base where life is nice and quiet. She would love a family who will advocate for her and help her find her orbit as she learns that the world isn't so scary. Venus is over the moon to finally meet you - ask about adopting her today! At SDHS:Venus has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for adoption! Shy/Fearful Dog: Venus requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about her. How this pet arrived:Kratos was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on May 1, 2026. Why this pet is the one for you: Meet Kratos! Kratos is a fun-loving, adorable guy who's happiest with a tennis ball in his mouth and a dog friend by his side! He is full of energy and a fetch enthusiast, so he would benefit from a consistent routine and plenty of opportunities for exercise and enrichment. Kratos can get stressed when left alone, so he may do best with people who are home often or who are willing to work with him on building comfort and confidence with alone time. He was rescued along with several other dogs and is looking to befriend your resident dog or to go home with one of the buddies he came in with! If there are any children in the home, we recommend they be here for the meet-and-greet to make sure it's a good fit. If you're ready for a fun and playful best friend, Kratos is waiting to meet you!
