Freddie and George are the sweetest guys ever. Freddie is 3 years old and George is 2 years old. They have the same parents, one liter apart. They are newfypoos. The Newfoundland temperament is very relaxed and they love to lounge about and sleep all day. However, they still love to play and would be great for families with kids older than 5. The poodle helps with the hair and mess. We have a very active toddler (another baby on the way) and a small house which the dogs haven’t adapted to not being the center of our attention and the toddler being in the home. They are also very large (approx. 90 lbs each) and are not aware of their size, they have knocked our toddler over a few times and we feel like this is the best decision for both them and our baby. We our sad to rehome them but we aren’t able to play with them as much as they deserve. This was an extremely hard decision and we want them to go to a home that can give them the love they deserve. We will really miss them.

Meet Max! This sweet boy was surrendered to the shelter on 9/19 because his family could no longer afford care for his skin issues. They shared that Max is house-trained and good with children, and volunteers describe him as friendly, sweet, and well-mannered. He knows several commands, including sit and stay. Max is understandably confused and overwhelmed by the noise and activity of the shelter. He also tested positive for heartworms, making his situation especially urgent. The good news is that heartworms are treatable, and with proper care, Max can go on to live a long, happy, healthy life. Please ask the shelter about the possibility of fostering to adopt while Max receives his treatment. He deserves someone willing to give him the fresh start he needs! Max is approximately 4 years old and weighs 74 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines and will be neutered and microchipped upon adoption. Max is waiting patiently in kennel 21; his ID # is 22707. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.
