He’s a calm, gentle dog who loves being around people and brings a ton of warmth to any home. It’s very hard for me to rehome him, but due to changes in my work and life schedule, I can’t give him the space, structure, and time he truly deserves. He’s an exceptional dog and deserves a home that fits his needs. About Duke: Duke loves going on walks, playing with his toys, and simply being near his people. He thrives when he has room to explore, a calm environment, and a routine. He would be best suited for someone (or a family) who is home often and has a large, fenced-in yard where he can roam safely. He loves being outdoors and loves being close to his humans. Duke seems to do well with kids and has a naturally gentle demeanor. He does not do well with cats and has a high prey drive, so a cat-free home is important. Echo, a one-year-old Anatolian shepherd and Great Pyrenees mix, weighs over 100 pounds and is expected to grow to about 150 pounds, as his father was a purebred 175-pound Anatolian shepherd. Born on a goat farm, he worked with other livestock guardian dogs until we adopted him. Unfortunately, he had not been guarding our animals, which was the primary reason for our decision to get him. Instead, he prefers to chase them around. Despite his sweet nature, he definitely needs a job. He’s great indoors and in a crate when you cannot supervise him, but if left unattended outside, he will dig up your yard and destroy things. I believe he just needs a companion to play with until he matures out of this puppy phase, but I cannot risk taking on another dog right now to test this theory. He deserves a a loving home and a job he loves.

Introducing this handsome gentleman named Caesar! He was on an adventure on 11/25 and got lost along the way. He arrived at the shelter with ID but sadly, no one has come to reclaim him. Caesar is 8 years and 1 week old and weighs in at 112 pounds. The volunteers describe him as a gentle giant who is super duper sweet and cute as a button. He knows to sit when asked for treats and loves them. So please make sure you have plenty of those on hand! The shelter is no place for a dog his size and age to live out his golden years. Caesar is more than ready to be taken care of and come home to a welcoming family for the rest of his years. Once outside he loves to explore and sniff every spot his sees throughout his walk. He is a bit strong on the leash but he is so excited just to be out of his kennel for a little while. We think with the right family who is patient and committed to him, with proper training and guidance, he will have this mastered in no time at all. He will be an awesome student. Sadly, he is heart worm positive. Would you be a hero for this sweet golden boy? Ask about foster-to-adopt, so he can be treated for heartworms at your home (the shelter will do the treatment). Ask for ID# 15320 in Run 30. He will be neutered upon adoption and is micro-chipped. With treatment, dogs who test positive for heartworms usually go on to live long and healthy lives. When choosing a forever pup, please make sure you have the space, time, energy, devotion, love, and lifestyle to ensure that Caesar has the best upbringing possible. This gorgeous girl is Lady. Lady's had a rough go at life so far. We believe she lived outside most of her life, likely poorly cared for. She and her litter were found wandering the streets and picked up by Bartow AC. All of her pups have been adopted at this point, leaving just her looking for a forever home. Lady can be a little shy, but warms up quickly and absolutely loves kids and is AMAZING with other dogs. She's currently living with cats but hasn't fully interacted yet. We're hoping a family steps up to give her a safe place to be forever. She's the perfect size at 45lbs, crate trained, and house trained. She is around 2 years old and we believe some sort of hound/boxer/pit mix.
