Story
Meet Rembrandt, the majestic Great Pyrenees with a soul as deep as the night sky. At four years old, Rembrandt exudes an air of quiet wisdom and solitude, reminiscent of the great artist after whom he is named. While his peers frolic and play, Rembrandt often finds solace in the serenity of his own company, preferring introspection to boisterous antics.Unfortunately, Rembrandt came to the Forsyth County Pet Resource Center heartworm positive, but the good news is that we will provide the necessary treatment for him at no additional cost to you! While Rembrandt is undergoing heartworm treatment, he will be placed in our Foster-to-Adopt (FTA) program so that you can start bonding with your new pet and give him a calm place to get better! Heartworm treatment is very safe, and the success rate is high and the Pet Resource Center prefers dogs like Rembrandt to recover in a home with an adopter rather than in a shelter. If you want to learn more about Rembrandt and how the FTA process works, please stop by or call us at 678-965-7185!

Story
This adventurous pup has a zest for life that knows no bounds. Whether exploring the great outdoors on his daily walks or indulging in his favorite snacks, Beethoven's enthusiasm is infectious. His love for treats is matched only by his love for human companionship, and he thrives on the attention and affection of his devoted friends. One of Beethoven's endearing quirks is his blissful ignorance of his own size. Though he may tower over some of his canine counterparts, Beethoven sees himself as a lap dog at heart, eager to snuggle up with anyone willing to share a cozy spot.Unfortunately, Beethoven came to the Forsyth County Pet Resource Center heartworm positive, but the good news is that we will provide the necessary treatment for him at no additional cost to you! Story
Meet Saul - Hi everyone! My name is Saul, and I am a 4-year old Great Pyrenees with the whitest coat around! I currently weigh around 99 pounds, and I am fully grown. Everyone here says I am the biggest cuddle bug around. I love all people and will let you pet me whenever you want as I thrive off of human interaction. When I see you approaching me, I will let out a low howl to show off my excitement. I DO NOT like other dogs or cats. I have been briefly tested on a leash with goats and chickens and I was ok, but we do not know how I would do once I get comfortable. I have the best leash manners as I do not pull and will walk right beside you at a slow pace (I like to take my time). I am however VERY leash reactive when taking a walk if other animals are around, as I don't like them. I do like to keep my kennel clean, but that's because I am a gentleman. I love being outside and will lay out in the sun and take a nap all day if you let me. I do have a lot of fur, but I don't mind being brushed at all - it makes me look even cuter! I am very protective of my people and will guard you. I need to have a large fenced-in area, maybe even a farm, but I also love a family to spend time with inside. My ideal home would be with an experienced Great Pyrenees dog owner who is a strong dog handler, that way I can thrive in my new home and be set up for success. If you are interested in learning more about me, please stop by the Humane Society of Forsyth County, Tuesday through Thursday between 11 am and 5 pm and Friday and Saturday between 1 pm to 5 pm. I will be waiting patiently to greet you! Love, Saul!
