Story
Nyomi Pleasance is a big-hearted, snuggly sweetheart with soft ears, a beautiful brindle-and-white coat, and the kind of loving personality that makes her feel like family right away. Nyomi Pleasance, who goes by Piper and already knows her name, is a 5-month-old Great Pyrenees mix, possibly mixed with Lab. She currently weighs 35 pounds and is expected to grow into a large dog, likely around 80 pounds as an adult. She has a medium-length coat with short, soft fur, a gorgeous white and brindle pattern, an extra-soft head, and the softest ears you will ever want to pet. Nyomi has an excellent temperament. She is friendly, cuddly, sweet, and well-mannered with a nice medium energy level. She enjoys playing and will get the zoomies sometimes, especially when she is having fun with her nanny dog, a 72-pound female German Shepherd. She is equally happy running and playing with other dogs or curling up with her people for love and snuggles. She will nap at your feet while you work at the computer, stretch out beside you at night, or climb into your lap while you watch TV. She is doing very well with her training and routine. Piper does great in her crate and is very quiet once she is in there. She runs right in to eat her meals in her crate and may only need a little treat encouragement from time to time. She is almost housebroken and knows to run outside to potty when the door opens. She may still have an accident or two inside each day, but they are small and easy to clean up. She is a great car rider, listens well, comes running when called, and is eager to please. She is also very food motivated, which should make continued training much easier. Nyomi is fairly quiet and only barks at outside noises or animals on the TV. She does not do puppy biting, though she can be gently mouthy during play. She loves stuffed animals, soft bones, hard bones, and she may occasionally steal a shoe just to keep life interesting. She loves her meals, eats twice a day, and is enthusiastic about food. She loves adults and kids and is very friendly with people she meets, though she can be a little skittish at first in new situations or around new people. She is submissive with people and warms up with kindness and patience. She shows slight signs that the pound may have been scary for her, including some nervousness in unfamiliar situations and a little resource-guarding growl around her food. The good news is that her confidence is building quickly, and she is blossoming more every day. She has a low prey drive, loves playing with dogs both large and small, and her behavior around cats is unknown. Nyomi is healthy, at an ideal weight, already spayed, microchipped, current on vaccines, and current on heart worm, flea, and tick prevention. Nyomi would do wonderfully in a home where she gets lots of attention and can be part of daily life. She loves going outside, but she also loves being inside with her people. She will want to be near you as much as possible, including sleeping beside you at night. She is already very well-mannered and does not need a lot of work, just continued love, structure, and encouragement. She could be happy as the only dog because she loves people so much, but she may do slightly better with another friendly, outgoing dog who can help her keep building confidence. If you are looking for a sweet, loyal, cuddly young dog who is playful when it is time for fun and calm when it is time to relax, Piper may be the perfect match.
