Handsome Adak, pronounced “ay-dack,” was named after an island in Alaska. Adak was a stray at a shelter that no one claimed. A happy boy that loves attention from his people, Adak will come over to you just to be petted. And if you sit or lie down on the floor he will be right next to you. He is a little reserved when first meeting a new person, but once you’re in his pack, he will be your best friend. Adak is a smart boy who knows some basic commands. This may have something to do with being very treat motivated. He is also a counter surfer so keep your counters clean! An energetic boy, Adak requires 1-2 daily walks; and he enjoys patrolling the backyard at his foster home. Adak also takes time out for a good nap. He enjoys the companionship of other dogs and would be very happy to have a female playmate in his furever home that matches his energy. Adak is crate trained and rides great in the car. He walks pretty well on a leash until he sees something he wants to go see and then he pulls some in excitement. We think Adak is a Maremma Sheepdog, a livestock guardian breed similar to a Great Pyrenees. At 1.5 years old, he weighs about 80 lbs. He is neutered, up to date on core vaccines and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Adoption Requirements *A minimum 5 ft fence *A home visit *Children in the home should be 12+ *A vet check with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri and surrounding states: Kansas, Arkansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois. We are able to help transport to those states.

In February 2023, we rescued Jada and her sister, Kali, from a shelter. They were likely dumped puppies as no owner claimed them. A Great Pyrenees/Saint Bernard mix, 1 year old Jada is a fun loving girl who LOVES attention from people. Kid friendly, she gets so excited when the grandkids come to visit her foster home. She would do well with older kids in the home as her size and exuberance might knock littles over. Always up for a play session, Jada loves to wrestle and play and when she's worn out she's good for a nap! She doesn't quite know her size and has been known to fall off the ottoman! A confident girl, Jada is bonded to her sister and they need a home with no cats or other female dogs. Jada is potty trained and walks pretty well on a leash. *Being fostered in Jackson, MO Jada weighs 90 lbs, is spayed, up to date on core vaccines, microchipped, and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Adoption Requirements: *A secure, visible fence *A home visit *A vet check with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri and surrounding states: Kansas, Arkansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois. We are able to help transport to those states.

Penny was from an oops litter that owner couldn’t find a home for. Introducing Penny! Penny is a sweet and gentle puppy with a calm, affectionate nature. She enjoys meeting new people and is friendly with everyone she meets, greeting them in a relaxed, easygoing way. Penny isn’t overly excitable, but she truly enjoys companionship and quietly seeks out affection more and more each day. She loves playful wrestling sessions with her brother and her foster dog siblings in short bursts, followed by long, cozy naps to recharge. When playtime is over, Penny is perfectly content relaxing nearby, soaking in her surroundings, and enjoying calm moments with her people. Her balanced mix of independence and affection makes her a wonderful, easy to love companion. Penny is about 95% potty trained and uses a bell to let you know when she needs to go outside. She is kennel trained, sleeps through the night, and is great with kids, dogs, and people of all ages. Penny would thrive in a home looking for a gentle, loving puppy with a peaceful presence and a heart full of love. Penny is being fostered in Omaha, NE area 3 months old, Penny weighs about 30 lbs. She is up to date on vaccines, up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. Penny will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract with adopter promising to spay at a later date and must provide vet records at that time. Adoption Requirements *A secure, visible fence *A home visit *A vet reference with at least a two year vet history Adopters for Penny can be located in Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and South Dakota. We are able to help transport to those states.
