Story
This handsome, affectionate boy is an unfurnished Bernedoodle which means he has the hair traits more of a Bernese than a poodle.   His birthdate is 10/18/25 so he is still growing.  He currently weighs approximately 50lbs and has curly hair but does shed.  He is housebroke and crate trained and very energetic.  He would do best in a home with another playful dog to help burn some of his energy.  Otherwise he will need a home where there is time to exercise him and he would love to have a fenced in yard.  He appears to be good with all size dogs, although he does like to play a little rough but has taken correction from the small older dog in his foster home.   We are unsure how he would be with cats.  He could use some obedience training but does appear smart and ready to learn.   If interested, please  complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Our $295 adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. Story
We adopted John from a foster home down the street. He was the smallest of a litter with Pyrenees and Collie mixes. He is incredibly intelligent and requires a lot of mental stimulation. He is eager to be trained and wants to learn new tricks. He would be best suited to be in a home that can put their full concentration toward training his herding traits and giving him a life that is fulfilling with daily work or responsibilities in an open space.

Story
Handsome Adak, pronounced “ay-dack,” was named after an island in Alaska. Adak was a stray at a shelter that no one claimed. A happy boy that loves attention from his people, Adak will come over to you just to be petted. And if you sit or lie down on the floor he will be right next to you. He is a little reserved when first meeting a new person, but once you’re in his pack, he will be your best friend. Adak is a smart boy who knows some basic commands. This may have something to do with being very treat motivated. He is also a counter surfer so keep your counters clean! An energetic boy, Adak requires 1-2 daily walks; and he enjoys patrolling the backyard at his foster home. Adak also takes time out for a good nap. He enjoys the companionship of other dogs and would be very happy to have a female playmate in his furever home that matches his energy. He does fine with dog friendly cats. Adak is crate trained and rides great in the car. He walks pretty well on a leash until he sees something he wants to go see and then he pulls some in excitement. We think Adak is a Maremma Sheepdog, a livestock guardian breed similar to a Great Pyrenees. At 1.5 years old, he weighs about 80 lbs. He is neutered, up to date on core vaccines and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Adoption Requirements *A minimum 5 ft fence *A home visit *Children in the home should be 12+ *A vet check with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri and surrounding states: Kansas, Arkansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois. We are able to help transport to those states.

Story
Meet Howie, a Pyrfect puppy who is happy, playful and affectionate. He is the last of his siblings still available for adoption. Howie is part of the West Plains, MO litter that was abandoned outside when their owner passed away. In his foster home, Howie has become quite confident, you show him how to do something and he'll get right in trying to learn. He's very good at reading cues from other dogs and cats, playful when they allow and will back off if they don’t want to play. Howie has a good appetite and is just enough food motivated to work for a treat. Watch out for his big Pyr paw! He is going through a teething phase and wants to steal everything to chew but does respond well to correction. Howie is 100% potty trained and walks pretty well on a leash. All in all you could not ask for a better puppy! Howie is 7 months old and weighs about 65 lbs. He is up to date on core vaccines, microchipped and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Howie will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract with adopter promising to neuter at 1 year old and must provide vet records at that time. Howie is being fostered in Columbia, MO Adoption Requirements *A secure & visible fence *A home visit *A vet check with at least a two year vet history Adopters can be located in Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, and Arkansas. We are able to help transport to those states.
