Story
I`m so pretty! I am very sweet, and I did great for my exam, vaccines, and some shaving (I had some matts) when I originally arrived at the shelter. I am food motivated...so food motivated that I have reportedly exhibited some resource guarding - the staff at the shelter can talk to you more about this if you would like to meet me and are interested in adopting me. I am overall a great dog and I know I`ll do really well in a loving home! Thank you for considering me!Foster notes on Lucy:`Lucy is such a sweet girl. She’s incredibly calm and mellow. She got into the car willingly and sat/laid down without complaint for the whole ride! She barely pulled on her leash (only if she reaaaaallly wanted to sniff something). She did not bark at other dogs and mostly just looked at them as we continued on our walk. She was VERY polite when accepting treats and would only eat them when placed on the floor first. She was a dream to spend the day with. She is so calm and sweet.``Her first afternoon with us was decompression time. After she initiated a self guided tour of all of our house, she found a nice quiet corner and sacked out away from everyone. I think she wanted quiet time after being at the shelter. She hoovered her food up and had two short walks. Yesterday she was more interested in us and by the end of the day was staying with us, asking for pets and ear rubs and got on the couch for a while with us. She also started throwing a lacrosse ball for herself and acting like a puppy chasing it around. Right now she is lying between my feet as I type with a very patient look. And we have had short and long walks in our neighborhood. If you need to burn off calories, she is a good walker. She did pull a few times when she saw unfamiliar dogs and when a squirrel ran right in front of her. But she quickly came back with a tug and walked on. I am working on the commands walk and stop. Not doing sit, cuz the roads/yard are muddy. She`s laid back. She`s content to be a couch potato. And she is easy to walk.`
