Story
We named him Monty after a character from The 100—sweet, loyal, and gentle—which fits him perfectly. We got Monty on October 6, 2024, and he has been an amazing family dog. He is extremely tolerant and gentle, even letting our baby sit on his face without reacting. He loves cuddles, running, balls, and playtime, but he is very gentle when taking food or treats from our hands. Monty is energetic and stubborn sometimes. He pulls on the leash and will dash out doors, so he needs a fenced yard. Loud and large vehicles scare him. He has been on 4Health Sensitive Skin food since we got him and does well with it. He is crate-trained, calm when left alone, does well at boarding, and travels well with potty breaks. We are only putting him up for adoption because of an upcoming Army move that won’t allow us to transport him due to his size. He is a wonderful dog who needs space and an open yard so he can run and play free.

Story
Meet Cotton! This big girl is everything you’d expect from a Great Pyrenees—calm, loyal, and full of love. Cotton adores her foster dog brother and lights up at the sight of treats. She’s a champion napper and would happily spend her days lounging by your side. Cotton loves playtime with her foster brother but mostly enjoys naps on the couch. She and her foster brother love running outside occasionally to bark back at neighborhood dogs (they do an excellent job of protecting their foster home). Cotton would do well in most homes but would benefit from someone who could give her a mid-day potty break. She does well on a leash and enjoys her walks. She does bark at other dogs she encounters. She is unbothered by her human sister (a preschooler) and appreciates that this sister often tries to sneak her treats. Cotton has also been great with other children in her foster’s neighborhood. Story
Meet Merritt! Merritt may have been born without the full use of her back legs, but don’t tell her she’s any different—this brave little Bernese is busy writing her own rulebook. At just 30 pounds at six months, she won’t grow to full Bernese size; instead, she’ll likely top out around 50–60 pounds, making her a wonderfully manageable medium-to-large pup. She’s already mastered her own way of getting around. Sometimes she hops, sometimes she scoots, and sometimes she rolls proudly in her wheelchair. Her latest favorite move in her chair? Spinning backwards in joyful little circles. Of course, if you happen to have a cheesestick, she’ll happily show off some forward steps too. Because of her disability, Merit doesn’t always have full control of her bathroom habits. At home she does well with pee pads, and when she’s out and about she wears a diaper like a champ. Her future family should be prepared for a bit of extra care, along with some lifting as she grows, but in return they’ll gain a dog with one of the biggest hearts you’ll ever meet. Merit is happiest when she’s snuggled in close, melting into your lap as though she was made for it. She loves other dogs, thrives on affection, and has a way of turning even her quirks into pure joy. What she’s looking for isn’t complicated: a home that will embrace her differences, celebrate her determination, and love her for the sweet, resilient pup she is. With Merritt, you don’t just get a dog—you get a daily reminder that courage and love come in all shapes and sizes. pipsrescue.org/adopt ##2500295##
