Story
Marty is a striking brindle and white puppy with vivid white feet. He was born December 21. 2023. Marty and his siblings came to HART from a shelter in Kentucky. The folks dropping them off said that the mother is part Newfoundland, however, they do not have long hair like Newfoundland. They are going to be large dogs, Marty weighs 25 pounds at 13 weeks old and has large feet. It is very difficult to estimate adult weight, but could be 80 pounds. They are all in excellent health. Marty is a confident, fun loving pup. He likes children, adults, and other dogs. He enjoys playing tug of war and keep away as well as wrestling with his siblings. He has been exposed to 5 adult larger dogs during play dates 5 days a week and does well. He warms up to other dogs fast and likes to play with them. Marty likes to have his belly rubbed, and will randomly lays down with his legs sticking up for a quick rub. He also loves to lay on you lap while you watch TV, and he hugs, or presses his snout against your cheek or neck instead of licking you. He is an affectionate pup. He rides well in the car. Walks on a lead, but needs additional training. Marty is crate trained, and house training is going great, He is completely reliable when he has access to outside ( Foster has a dogging door). I have left him for 2-3 hours in the gated kitchen without accidents. The cold weather didn’t deter him from going outside. He loved the snow and was ok with med-light rain, but he didn’t appreciate the windy heavy rain. Marty is a laid back pup, his activity level is about average, plays for an hour or 2 and then rest/sleeps and hour or 2 as most puppies. He sleeps through the night in his crate (9:30 to 6:00) without protest, if he hears stirring near 6 he’ll start making noise to go out. He enjoys chew toys, tug-of-war, chewing on sticks, and playing with other dogs. He is highly food motivated, so training should be easy. Marty would do best with a fenced yard, as he loves to wonder around stiffing and playing in the flower beds or anything he can find. If you think Marty could be a good fit, submit an application and the foster will bring him to your house for a visit. All HART dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines, including bordatella and rabies. They are heartworm tested and on preventative for heartworm, fleas, and ticks. If you are interested in any of our pets, you must complete an online dog adoption application at www.rescueAhart.org . The application will put you in touch with this wonderful dog's foster family so you can schedule a meeting. Thanks! www.rescueAhart.org

Oreo is the sweetest lovable big dog! He is a gentle giant! He loves constant attention and wants to be your very best friend and side kick. He will follow you around wherever you go. He is excellent with kids (I have 4) and other animals. He has never even nipped at anyone. Oreo is very smart and trainable. He already knows sit, floor, bed, and outside. He is also leash trained for walks. He has been to the vet regularly, and is very well taken care of! He is house broken and crate trained. Unfortunately, I lost my job and can no longer care for him. I just want him to go to the best home!

WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Harley - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! My name is Harley and it comes from the Old English origin meaning 'Hare Meadow', which represents a peaceful and serene image. Just nothing like seeing a Pyr laying in the yard watching! Unfortunately my elderly owner is not able to care for me any longer but I'm trying not to let it get me down as I look for another family to adopt. Did you know that I came from royalty? The Pyrenees breed came from France where we made our way up from being a peasant farmers dog to the royal court being named the royal dog of France in 1675. Even Queen Victoria had a Pyr. We are strong willed and can sometimes be stubborn but more importantly we are affectionate, patient, confident, fearless and gentle. It is said that we wouldn't make a good breed for first timers but if you're aware of the negative traits (sometimes stubborn & lots of hair) along with the awesome good traits, we could definitely make it work. As a youngster at only around a year and a half old, I do have some basic obedience training, am well mannered, I don't jump up unless invited and have a sweet, loving warm nature that just adores getting 'good boys' from my people. I am a big boy of snowy white fluff. I will need several weekly brushings to keep my royal self tangle free and looking dapper and the vacuum will be an extension of your arm with me around but the reward of my adoring love for you will sooooo be worth it!! A couple of daily 45 minute walks a day should be enough to keep me happy. With that daily exercise in I can do quite well in town with a yard or in the country. I fall into the 3 G category which is Gorgeous, Gentle and Giant. Instinctively nurturing with the flock or family, we do make great family members. Just make sure the couch is big enough for sharing!!! My breed tend to love being with the family and are content to lay at or on your feet or curled up with you on that big enough couch. I'm here to adopt me a family and since you're reading this you must being missing something special in your life too, could it possibly be...ME?!!

Howdy y'all, my name is Gus and I'm looking for a life pawtner that I can spend my days being by your side, being your BFF, your cohort (that is... a cohort in crime but shh I won't tell if you won't!!) ;). I'm around a year and a half old, that perfectly pawsome age to tag along with you on all your daily going on's, from the mundane to the exciting action adventures... I'm just happy to be with you! At 70lbs I'm a bigger boy but all that means is that there is more of me to put a whole lot of lovins on you. With my Pyr/Lab hairtage I'm got the shorter coat more like the Lab which is so much easier in the grooming department. It won't take much for me to be ready for all our adventures! I get along pawsomely with people both tall and small and with all the other foster pups. Although cats are unknown as we are not sure if I've ever met one yet. I'd make a great addition to just about any family with a 'sibling' or getting all the attention as your one and only! Are you looking for that life pawtner then look no further cuz I could be YOUR boy!!!

Story
Introducing Ruby! At 6.5 years and 70lbs, this Bernese Mountain dog is a glorious girl full of love to share with you. Ruby spent the first part of her life in a puppy mill, forced to reproduce and live in filthy conditions with minimal care. Despite the hardships she has faced, Ruby's affectionate personality truly sparkles. Her day is not complete without plentiful snuggles, which she demands over and over by leaning solidly against you. Ruby's advances are hard to resist - her soft, thick coat feels just like hugging a real live teddy bear! Ruby is a low-energy dog who enjoys the simple pleasures in life like rolling in grass and napping in the sun, and she is happiest with a human by her side. She loves going for walks and has amazing leash manners! Ruby is still learning what treats are, but thinks hot dogs are the best thing she's tasted so far. Stairs, dog beds, playing, and toys are all new concepts that Ruby is slowly learning. Like any good Berner, Ruby has a stubborn streak and will simply put on the brakes when faced with something she thinks she doesn't want or need to do. Training Ruby will likely take patience and persistence. Ruby doesn't always love getting into her crate, but once she's in Ruby hangs out there peacefully and quietly. Ruby is still working on house training, but is doing great with frequent potty breaks. Ruby is friendly with other people, children, and dogs but is a little too interested in cats. As a puppy mill survivor, Ruby was under socialized and is nervous with new people, places, and sounds. In unfamiliar situations this brave girl looks to her human for a few moments of reassurance. She quickly warms up once she realizes she is safe, and is demanding affection in no time. Who can resist those big brown eyes? Ruby is a truly special gem deserving of only the best that life has to offer. Apply today to welcome beautiful Ruby into your heart and home! Ruby is being fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
