Story
Marty is a striking brindle and white puppy with vivid white feet. He was born December 21. 2023. Marty and his siblings came to HART from a shelter in Kentucky. The folks dropping them off said that the mother is part Newfoundland, however, they do not have long hair like Newfoundland. They are going to be large dogs, Marty weighs 25 pounds at 13 weeks old and has large feet. It is very difficult to estimate adult weight, but could be 80 pounds. They are all in excellent health. Marty is a confident, fun loving pup. He likes children, adults, and other dogs. He enjoys playing tug of war and keep away as well as wrestling with his siblings. He has been exposed to 5 adult larger dogs during play dates 5 days a week and does well. He warms up to other dogs fast and likes to play with them. Marty likes to have his belly rubbed, and will randomly lays down with his legs sticking up for a quick rub. He also loves to lay on you lap while you watch TV, and he hugs, or presses his snout against your cheek or neck instead of licking you. He is an affectionate pup. He rides well in the car. Walks on a lead, but needs additional training. Marty is crate trained, and house training is going great, He is completely reliable when he has access to outside ( Foster has a dogging door). I have left him for 2-3 hours in the gated kitchen without accidents. The cold weather didn’t deter him from going outside. He loved the snow and was ok with med-light rain, but he didn’t appreciate the windy heavy rain. Marty is a laid back pup, his activity level is about average, plays for an hour or 2 and then rest/sleeps and hour or 2 as most puppies. He sleeps through the night in his crate (9:30 to 6:00) without protest, if he hears stirring near 6 he’ll start making noise to go out. He enjoys chew toys, tug-of-war, chewing on sticks, and playing with other dogs. He is highly food motivated, so training should be easy. Marty would do best with a fenced yard, as he loves to wonder around stiffing and playing in the flower beds or anything he can find. All HART dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines, including bordatella and rabies. They are heartworm tested and on preventative for heartworm, fleas, and ticks. Story
Daisy, affectionately known as Lazy Daisy, is a gentle, laid-back girl who loves cuddles, belly rubs, and cozy naps. She came to us from my sister who relocated out of state, and she’s been such a loving presence in our home. Unfortunately, we now have to relocate unexpectedly, and with such short notice, we haven’t been able to find a home that accommodates all of us, including Daisy. It breaks our hearts to let her go because she truly has the sweetest little heart and face, but we know she’ll make another family very happy. Daisy is shy at first and takes time to warm up, but once she trusts you, she’s pure love. She’s not a guard dog; just a soft, snuggly companion who wants a calm, patient home and someone to share her quiet, cozy life with. 💛

Story
With much sadness, I need to rehome Bella. She is attacking my pittie Oliver and he is terrified of her. And I am getting bitten as well, when I try to break up the fighting. It is not safe for any of us (I have 8 dogs total) and the dogs are all stressed and on edge, as am I. Otherwise, she is a very sweet dog. Likely a Pyr; she has double dewclaws. She’s about 11 months old; she’s updated on all shots and monthly flea/tick/heartworm meds. She isn’t spayed. She listens well and comes when called. No accidents in home. She loves her crate. She’s tall and is about 70-75lbs. She is fine in home when left alone. She will just sleep on couch, dog beds on floor, or in her crate. She is food aggressive during meal times, so I put her in crate until all dogs have eaten. Then I let her out. She takes treats gently. I have only had her for four months, but there have been many fights between her and Oliver. And all my dogs are stressed because of it as am I.

Meet Brody ❤️ 2 year old Shepherd mix, male, 65lbs Brody was picked up as a stray, and was either dumped, or escaped terrible living conditions. He was dirty, matted, and extremely thin, an ideal weight would be around 75lbs. Brody is the sweetest dog you could imagine, and loves everyone he meets. He does great with other dogs, and loves doggie daycare. Brody is crate trained, and walks well on a leash. He is current on vaccines, microchipped, and neutered.
