✨Meet Brownie!✨ Brownie is a Newfoundland who came into us as a surrender from a commercial breeding facility (aka Puppy Mill) in Lancaster County. We are confident he will make a wonderful family member for a very lucky family, who understands his past and gives him the time he needs to trust them and his new surroundings. Brownie loves other animals, and will thrive in a home with at least one other dog. Adopting a puppy mill survivor is life-changing—for you and them. For these dogs, everything is new and often overwhelming: people, houses, stairs, leashes, food bowls, collars, toys, TVs, ovens, doorways, pavement…the list goes on. They need adopters who can move slowly, be patient, keep expectations reasonable, and provide the understanding and tools they need to grow into happy, confident companions. Patience, positive reinforcement, and understanding are key! We promise there is nothing that compares to gaining the love and trust of a puppy mill survivor, but it requires intentional effort and commitment from their new family. With the right guidance, puppy mill survivors can blossom into well-socialized, joyful dog- so our goal is always to ensure every adopter is fully prepared to give them the life and environment they need to truly thrive! Meet Bianca: Bianca is about a 1 and a half year old (as of August 2026) Great Pyrenees mix (best guess) that weighs 73 pounds. Bianca was surrendered belt her owners to a high kill shelter in Memphis, TN because she required more attention and exercise than they were willing or able to give. This sweet girl was due to be euthanized due to length of stay and we were able to rescue her at the last minute! We are so thankful for our network to be able to step up and find room! Bianca is currently safe and being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Bianca has a very friendly personality and has been good with other dogs and people. Bianca does have a lot of energy and will need an active family who is willing to give her lots of exercise. Bianca walks well on a leash, however she will pull when she gets excited and could use extra training to perfect her leash skills. Bianca is house trained and crate trained. Bianca will require a home with a physical fenced in yard. Bianca is up to date on her shots and will be spayed as of 8/21/26. Hickory is large and in charge weighing around 100 pounds. He is a gentle giant though! He is 1 years old , but over the puppy shenanigan stage. He lived with another dog as well as with cats in his previous home. He is also house trained and crate trained. He will make a great addition to his future family! Because of his size he would do best with older children. Hickory is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines.
