Story
Meet Rosco! He is a sweet boy but can be a bossy one, though regardless he always has a lot to say! He needs a home that is active and can provide lots of stimulation. Rosco can be protective, or even territorial in a setting that has kids, so he would do best in child-free home. He is very excitable, and every person he greets can't help but smile at his precious scruffy face and wiggly tail. Rosco loves to go for walks with his favorite humans, but enjoys playing in the yards with his doggie friends just as much. We love Rosco and we are sure you will love him too! Apply to come and meet Rosco today!

Story
Thank you for your interest in this sweet boy. Furgus has been adopted, Furguson is about 4 years old and 16 lbs. He is a nice little dog who loves hanging out with you. He gets along with other dogs but doesn't want to play with them. He would love to be an only dog if you do not work a full workday and would need a canine companion for him if you do. Furgus is a people dog and gets along with men and women but he lights up when he sees a man. No young children should be in the home where he lives because he has no patience with them. He is a sweet and good-natured fellow who can also be very vocal when he wants and has much to say. A perfect day for him is a stroll through the backyard, walking, riding in the car, or just sitting in his bed next to you or on the chair where you sit. He is not interested in toys at all. Furgus sleeps all night in his bed and is house-trained. He is a loving dog who needs to be in a quiet home where he can let his hair down. We do not know how he would be with cats in the home. Furgus is being fostered in San Francisco. His adoption fee is $275.00. Please contact us for more info or an application to adopt at dogzonerescue@yahoo.com Arrangements to meet our dogs occur after an application has been received.

Her beautiful fur— white with black-tipped strands that fluff up like feathers in the breeze— turns heads wherever she goes. But what truly makes Shasta special is her devotion to her people. She’s affectionate, loyal, and happiest when she’s near you, whether that means cuddling on the couch, following you from room to room, or simply lounging by your side after a fun day.   Shasta is a dog who forms strong bonds and gives her whole heart to her family. With guidance, patience, and consistency, she has all the makings of an incredibly rewarding companion.   Daily Routine & Lifestyle   Shasta thrives on a predictable routine and enjoys a balance of activity and relaxation. She typically wakes up around 6:30 a.m. and politely lets you know she needs to go outside by whining at the bedroom door and doing her adorable little “tippy-tappys.” After her morning potty break, she enjoys some quiet lounging time before breakfast, which is served between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m.— and she greets every meal with joyful enthusiasm, bouncing up and down in excitement.   After breakfast, Shasta enjoys a cozy nap followed by playtime with her toys in the living room. Late mornings often include a walk to the park for exercise, which she looks forward to with great excitement whenever the leash comes out. During the day, she happily relaxes at home, and if the back door is open, she’ll take herself outside to potty, soak up the sunshine, or nibble on a bit of grass.   Dinner is usually around 5:30–6:00 p.m., once again celebrated with tail wags and happy hops. Evenings are spent relaxing on the couch, playing with toys, and enjoying time with her people before bedtime.   Personality: From Cautious to Devoted   When Shasta first arrived in her foster home, she was understandably wary and unsure in her new environment. She growled a bit at first and kept her distance while she figured things out. With patience, kindness, and a few tasty treats, she quickly began to trust her foster family. Within 24 hours, her personality began to shine—she started engaging, exploring the backyard, and showing her affectionate side.   Today, Shasta is a loyal, people-oriented dog who loves companionship. She tends to follow her person from room to room and eagerly keeps up with the household. She enjoys sitting close on the couch and often chooses to cuddle up next to you or lean against your leg. She has a playful side too, especially when it comes to tug-of-war or a good game of fetch.   One of her cutest quirks is how she cools off after getting cozy— she’ll hop down from the sofa and do a full “sploot” on the cool floor, sometimes rolling onto her back with her belly in the air in what can only be described as a reverse sploot.   Play Style & Energy Level   Shasta is a nice blend of playful and relaxed. She enjoys her walks and gets very excited when it’s time to head out, happily bouncing in anticipation. She also loves interactive play, especially tug-of-war and chasing toys, but she’s equally content lounging around the house or soaking up the sun outdoors.   She recently completed a two-mile walk along the beach and had a fantastic time, showing that she can be a great companion for someone who enjoys regular outings and adventures.   Dog Social Skills   Shasta currently lives with a similarly sized Chihuahua mix and has learned to coexist well after an adjustment period. She can be selective with other dogs, particularly larger ones, and may bark or pull on leash when she sees them. With proper introductions, structure, and continued training, she has shown that she can improve and build positive relationships.   Training & Areas for Growth   Shasta is a smart and very trainable dog who has already made meaningful progress in her foster home. Like many dogs, she comes with a few behaviors that will require continued guidance:   Leash manners: She tends to pull and can become reactive when she sees other dogs, especially larger ones.   Resource guarding: She may guard high-value items, food, or spaces, and can be protective of her person or environment. She has already demonstrated the ability to trade items and respond to redirection.   Visitor greetings: She may bark when new people enter the home, but settles with structure, patience, and positive reinforcement.   The encouraging news is that Shasta responds well to training and has already shown improvement with consistency and exercise. She is not a difficult dog— she is a dog who needs clear guidance and a committed, dog-savvy adopter willing to continue the great training work her foster is doing.   House Training   Shasta is reliably house-trained when given access to the outdoors. If the back door is open, she will take herself outside to potty independently. She also communicates her needs clearly, especially in the morning, by whining at the door to let you know it’s time to go out.   She does not chew on inappropriate items and shows good household manners overall.     She is not a “plug-and-play” dog, but she is absolutely a dog worth investing in. For the right person, Shasta will be an incredibly devoted companion.    Due to her challenges, Shasta is only an option for older children who understand boundaries and can give her space when needed.   Why You’ll Love Her   Shasta is sweet, funny, expressive, and deeply attached to her people. Whether she’s bouncing with excitement at mealtime, chasing a butterfly in the backyard like something out of a movie, or performing her signature sploot to cool off, she brings personality and charm to everyday life.   Most of all, she is a dog who wants to belong— to be loved, guided, and included. And in return, she will offer loyalty, affection, and companionship in abundance.June 14, 2026, 8:48 pm

Check our website after the event for available dogs. All DPS Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, flea/tick treated, and microchipped prior to adoption.Adoption fee: $650 Meet Triscuit, the belly rub connoisseur!   At 4 years old and just under 10 pounds, Triscuit is a scruffy little Terri-poo with soft cloud-like hair, expressive opinions, and a heart that desperately wants to trust and belong. He came to rescue with his buddy Ritz after being picked up as a stray, and while it’s clear life hasn’t always been easy for him, watching him discover the comforts of home has been incredibly rewarding.   When Triscuit first arrived, the world inside a house seemed completely foreign to him. Leashes? Confusing. Walks? Absolutely not. On his very first evening walk attempt, he froze completely and had to be gently carried to the grass. By the next morning, treats helped convince him to take a few tiny steps. By day three? He was excitedly wagging at the sight of the leash and proudly trotting through the neighborhood like he’d been doing it his whole life.   Now, walks are one of his favorite things.   Daily Life with Triscuit   Triscuit wakes up sometime between 6:30–8:00 AM. Most mornings he quietly waits for his humans to get up, though occasionally he’ll let out a tiny bark to politely remind everyone that breakfast and bathroom breaks are important business.   He eats twice a day and enjoys two walks daily. Depending on the timing, he may choose breakfast first or adventure first — he’s flexible like that.   During the day, Triscuit likes to keep tabs on his people without necessarily being glued to them. He’ll lounge a few sofa cushions away, curl up in a nearby dog bed, sprawl across the cool kitchen tiles, or supervise backyard activities from the yard. He follows his foster around the house in a sweet, quiet way, settling nearby once he decides you’re staying put for a while.   At night, he happily sleeps in his crate in the bedroom and genuinely seems to enjoy having his own cozy little den. Sometimes he’ll even tuck himself in there during the day when he wants to relax.   Professional Belly Rub Solicitor   If Triscuit had a full-time job, it would be convincing humans to rub his belly.   This boy LOVES affection — on his terms. He has perfected the dramatic belly flop maneuver and will happily roll over for scratches whenever an opportunity presents itself. While he’s not exactly a velcro lap dog, he absolutely wants to be near his people and involved in whatever’s going on.   One of the funniest things about him? He sleeps completely upside down with all four legs sticking straight into the air like a tiny fluffy fainting goat. Deep sleep in this house apparently requires maximum dramatic flair.   Smart, Sensitive, and Still Learning   Triscuit is a sensitive little guy who appreciates respectful handling and predictable interactions. While he adores people, there were a couple of moments where he gave warnings when someone reached to pet him without checking in first while he was resting nearby. Because of this, he’d do best in a home with older children or adults who understand canine boundaries and will allow him space when he’s relaxing.   The beautiful thing about Triscuit is that despite whatever hardships he experienced before rescue, he still chooses connection. He seeks out affection constantly, follows his people around, and genuinely wants to bond.   Social Butterfly with Opinions   Triscuit loves seeing people and dogs on walks and would happily greet every living creature in the neighborhood if allowed. He gets excited when spotting dogs from afar and sometimes barks because he’s eager to say hello. That said, he has also shown he can settle beautifully in public spaces. He accompanied his foster to both an office and a café and, after an initial adjustment period, relaxed quietly on a dog bed or watched the world go by while his human enjoyed coffee with friends.   Future Home Dreams   Triscuit would thrive in a patient, loving home that understands he’s still learning how to “dog” in a family environment.   Most of all, he needs adopters who appreciate the incredibly rewarding process of helping a shy, uncertain dog continue blossoming into his best self.   Underneath the cautious moments and occasional barking is a goofy little sweetheart with impossibly soft fluffy hair, an endless desire for belly rubs, and a talent for sleeping upside down like it’s an Olympic sport.   Whoever adopts Triscuit won’t just be getting a dog — they’ll get to be part of his next chapter, and that’s something pretty special.June 14, 2026, 8:48 pm

Check our website after the event for available dogs. All DPS Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, flea/tick treated, and microchipped prior to adoption.Adoption fee: $650 Some dogs enter a room. Madeleine arrives. Whether she's hopping through the house on her long kangaroo legs, making her rounds to greet every living creature in sight, or climbing directly into someone's lap for a cuddle session, Madeleine believes life is better when everyone is included. This 4-5 month old Yorkie mix first came to rescue as a young puppy and was recently welcomed back through absolutely no fault of her own. Now she's searching for the forever family she deserves— and whoever adopts her is in for something special.   Meet the Baby Kangaroo   Madeleine's foster family lovingly refers to her as their 'baby kangaroo,' and one look at her long legs and bouncy hops makes it easy to understand why.   In fact, her foster insists she resembles Nicole Kidman if Nicole Kidman happened to be a tiny blonde kangaroo.   Madeleine doesn't simply walk through the house. She springs. She bounces. She hops from room to room, checking in on everyone and making sure she's not missing out on any fun.   Because for Madeleine, every day is a party and every person is her favorite person.   Professional Greeter, Amateur Personal Space Respecter   From the moment she arrived in foster care, Madeleine has been a social butterfly.   She adores people, loves visitors, and gets excited to meet anyone who crosses her path. Every morning starts with a quick potty break before she begins one of her most important daily responsibilities: waking up the kids.   Once everyone is out of bed, Madeleine happily makes her rounds, handing out kisses and greeting each member of the household as if they've been away for months rather than sleeping in the next room.   She genuinely wants to be friends with everyone.   Humans? Absolutely.   Dogs? Of course.   Cats? She's trying her best.   Cuddles Are Her Love Language   If Madeleine had to choose a career, she would undoubtedly become a professional snuggler.   This little girl has never met a lap she didn't love. If you're sitting down, expect Madeleine to politely suggest that your lap would be improved by adding one small puppy.   She has perfected the art of the gentle paw tap— a sweet request to be picked up so she can settle in for cuddles.   And once she's comfortable? She's staying.   If you lie down on the floor, she'll find a way to drape herself across your neck, stomach, shoulder, or any other available body part. No one is safe from Madeleine's affection.   At bedtime, she's equally committed to physical closeness. Her foster reports that she's an A+ spooner who insists on sleeping near her people. Move her away, and she'll quietly crawl right back. One of her favorite sleeping spots is tucked into the crook behind your knees, where she can stay cozy all night long.   The Perfect Puppy Balance   Like any puppy, Madeleine experiences life in two speeds.   Speed one: zoomies.   Speed two: unconscious.   She spends her days alternating between playful bursts of energy and deep, dramatic naps that would impress a professional sleeper. She enjoys romping around the backyard, wrestling with her canine friends, and exploring her surroundings before seeking out the nearest comfy surface for a recharge.   She also enjoys relaxing in her crate and settles in beautifully when it's time to rest.   Friends of Every Species   Madeleine currently lives with a small dog, a cat, and even a hamster.   The hamster barely registers on her radar.   The resident dog, however, is her best buddy. They wrestle, play, zoom around the yard, and often cuddle together when playtime is over.   As for the cat, Madeleine has enthusiastically offered friendship. The cat remains unconvinced.   Despite this one-sided relationship, Madeleine continues her campaign of kindness and optimism.   She also lives with teenagers and is completely obsessed with them. If there are kids around willing to provide attention, cuddles, and admiration, Madeleine is all in.   Smart, Sweet, and Easy to Live With   Madeleine does an excellent job with her potty habits. She happily goes outside in the yard and also understands how to use potty pads when indoors. She has not had an accident in her foster home since the second day there.   She's crate trained, settles in without complaint, and is generally an easy puppy to have around.   She doesn't dig.   She doesn't destroy things.   She doesn't bark at every passing sound.   In fact, the only time you're likely to hear her voice is during playtime or when another dog has committed the unforgivable crime of stealing her favorite toy.   The only minor trouble she's known to cause? Occasionally smuggling leaves into the house after a backyard adventure.   Her Perfect Home   Madeleine would make a wonderful family dog.   She loves people, thrives on affection, and genuinely enjoys being part of a busy household. Another playful dog would be a fantastic bonus since she loves canine companionship, but her adaptable personality means she could fit into many different types of homes.   Most importantly, she's looking for people who enjoy having a dog close by—a dog who wants to cuddle, participate in family activities, and remind everyone daily that life is meant to be enjoyed.   Why You'll Fall in Love   Madeleine is one of those rare puppies who combines sweetness, confidence, humor, and affection into one adorable package.   She's playful without being overwhelming.   Friendly without being pushy.   Cuddly without ever getting tired of cuddling.   And perhaps best of all, she makes every day a little brighter simply by being herself.   Whether she's hopping through the house like a tiny kangaroo, gathering the family together for morning greetings, or attempting to spoon you into submission at bedtime, Madeleine approaches life with joy, love, and endless enthusiasm.   If you're looking for a puppy who will keep you laughing, cover you in kisses, and happily claim permanent residence in your lap, Madeleine is ready to hop her way straight into your heart.June 14, 2026, 8:48 pm

Five unique personalities. One incredible start in life.   At just two weeks old, these puppies arrived in foster care with their devoted mother, Clue. Over the following six weeks, they have been raised in a loving family home surrounded by children, visitors, household activity, and plenty of opportunities to learn and grow. Thanks to Clue's patient guidance and the dedication of their foster family, these puppies have developed into confident, affectionate, and well socialized companions who are ready to begin the next chapter of their lives.   The Clue Litter has been raised alongside children ages 8 to 13 and has enjoyed regular interaction with both adults and kids. They have been exposed to everyday household life, including televisions, dishwashers, vacuums, gardeners, visitors, and the normal sights and sounds of a busy home. They have also been introduced to cats and are growing up comfortable around a variety of experiences.   Like their mother, these puppies are exceptionally smart. They are already learning recall, sit, and basic commands and eagerly respond to positive reinforcement. During the day, they use a puppy door to independently go outside for potty breaks and playtime, and at night they consistently use pee pads in their x pen. They are curious, food motivated, and genuinely enjoy learning.   More than anything, these puppies love being with people. Whether they are following the kids around, climbing into laps for cuddles, or eagerly participating in training sessions, they have been raised to see humans as an important and rewarding part of their world.   While each puppy has a unique personality, they all share the same loving foundation. They are affectionate, people oriented, playful, and eager to learn. Based on their current size and build, we expect them to grow into medium sized companions similar to their mother.   If you're looking for a puppy who has had an exceptional start in life and is ready to continue learning, exploring, and loving, one of the Clue puppies may be your perfect match.   ---   Dagger   Dagger has quickly become the favorite of the twelve year old in his foster home, and it's easy to see why. This handsome boy combines confidence, intelligence, and affection into one irresistible package.   A medium sized puppy within the litter, Dagger loves to play with his siblings and join in family activities, but he also appreciates quality cuddle time. In the evenings, you'll often find him curled up on the couch giving kisses and soaking up attention from his favorite people.   Like his mother, Dagger is smart, eager to please, and highly trainable. He isn't the leader of the group, but he's always happy to join whatever adventure is underway. His balanced personality makes him a wonderful combination of playful companion and devoted snuggle buddy.   ---   Candlestick     Don't let her small size fool you. Candlestick may be the runt of the litter, but she has one of the biggest personalities.   This little girl is determined to be included in everything. Whether her siblings are wrestling, exploring, or meeting new people, Candlestick is right there making sure she doesn't miss out. She approaches life with confidence and enthusiasm that far exceeds her size.   Candlestick is incredibly affectionate with both people and her littermates. She loves being part of the action and thrives on connection and companionship. Her spunky personality, loving nature, and endless enthusiasm make her impossible not to adore.   ---   Pistol    Pistol's silky smooth coat perfectly matches her gentle personality.   While some puppies rush headfirst into every activity, Pistol prefers to take a moment to observe the world around her. She is thoughtful, calm, and quietly confident. Often you'll find her sitting nearby, patiently waiting for pets and affection rather than demanding attention.   Pistol is happy to join in playtime with her siblings, but she is equally content exploring independently or simply relaxing and watching the world go by. She loves cuddles, kisses, and spending time with her people. Her steady, sweet nature gives her a maturity that is remarkable for such a young puppy.   ---   Wrench   Wrench has a scruffy coat, an expressive face, and a personality that instantly wins hearts.   This lovable girl learned early that sitting politely often results in being picked up for cuddles, and she has been charming people ever since. Smart and observant like her mother, Wrench quickly picks up on routines and enjoys interacting with everyone around her.   She has a wonderful medium energy level and plays happily with all of her siblings. Whether she's wrestling, exploring, or soaking up affection, Wrench brings a gentle and easygoing spirit to everything she does. It's no surprise she became the foster mom's favorite, and she may just know it.   ---   Lead Pipe    Lead Pipe is the natural leader of the litter.   Confident, social, and endlessly curious, she is often the first to investigate a new toy, explore a new space, or figure out a puppy sized puzzle. She loves learning how things work and approaches life with enthusiasm and determination.   While she may be one of the more active puppies in the group, she is equally devoted to her people. Lead Pipe loves following family members around, staying involved in whatever is happening, and making sure she's included. When playtime is over, she crashes just as enthusiastically as she played.   Smart, affectionate, and full of personality, Lead Pipe is the kind of puppy who turns everyday life into an adventure.   ----   In the game of Clue, the goal is to solve the mystery. Fortunately, there's no mystery here! These puppies are smart, affectionate, well socialized, and ready to become beloved family members. The only question left to solve is which puppy is meant for you.  June 14, 2026, 8:48 pm
