Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet.TACO the terrific terrier mix is a solid, great little dog who just loves people and runs around very happy.  TACO was found on the streets of San Antonio, TX by a good Samaritan running the streets.  Just writing about him makes me smile because he is a happy little guy who is enjoying himself and happy to be in the house.  And he is loving running in and out to play and just mingle with the dogs. TACO is just a bit over 1 year old and 14 pounds and has reached his adult height and weight.  I do not expect he will grow any bigger. I do not have any cats so I am not sure how he would get along with them.  I also do not have a doggy door so I let the dogs out often to potty.  I am saying he is not potty trained but I do not give him a chance to have an accident in the house, I let him often.  I would just be safe to say that he will need to be trained.  But he loves treats so it should be pretty east to potty train him.  He is catching on. His coat is very soft and light, not thick.  He would probably benefit from a trim every 3-4 months, not often like a regular grooming. TACO was given his name by the finder's little boy and he perks up when I call him.  He is independent, not all in your face but he is engaging.  I would give him space to settle in and get to know you. He is totally crate trained.  TACO would be a great first pet for anyone as he is easy to get along with and easy to train. If you are interested in adopting TACO, please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls.  We will reply to you.  Thank you.         May 30, 2026, 12:16 am

Story
Hooch came to us from a shelter. Hooch patted my husband on the shoulder as he walked by and it was love at first sight for them. He loves to go for walks and to meet new people and dog friends to play with. He has a calm nature. The only time he gets overly excited is when there is loud thunder or fireworks going on. You have to hold on tight during those walks because he is strong and likes to investigate so he will pull you around if you let him. He has always gotten along well with other dogs and children. He wants to be friends with everyone. He's about 7 years old and settled, never a bit of trouble. He used to shake, roll over, and sit on his haunches usually to let you know he is either hungry or wants out. He will even sleep at the foot of your bed if you allow him to!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Milo! Milo is a handsome Norfolk Terrier mix with a beautiful red coat and an even sweeter personality. Born around March 11, 2025, this charming boy weighs 14.5 pounds, making him a great small-to-medium sized companion for a loving home. Milo came from a hoarding situation where he was one of 29 dogs, so life hasn’t always been easy for him. Because of that, he may take a few minutes to warm up to new people. But once you approach him gently and offer slow, reassuring pets, you’ll see his guard melt away—and that’s when his affectionate side shines through. Sadly, Milo did not receive heartworm prevention earlier in life and tested heartworm positive. The good news is that he has already been treated and is doing well! He just needs to take medication for 30 more days to complete his recovery and get back to feeling his best. Milo gets along wonderfully with other dogs and truly enjoys their company. He is very smart and eager to connect with people, especially once he feels safe. With a patient and loving family willing to give him time to adjust, he will grow into a loyal and devoted companion. He’s still learning some basics, including walking on a leash, but with consistency and kindness he will quickly improve. If you’re ready to give a deserving pup a second chance and a lifetime of love, Milo may be the perfect fit for your family. Adoption Fee: $350 Apply to adopt Milo: www.adoggie4you.org Help this sweet boy start his new chapter in a home full of love! This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $250. We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations. Story
Located in San Antonio Texas Meet Gerti the Border Terrier! She is our newest addition. She was found running the streets with her Dogo Argentino pal. The family that found them spent weeks trying to find their owners with no success. Gerti was not spayed and did not have a microchip. The good new is, she is now spayed, microchipped, and has had all her vaccines! The bad news is, she is heartworm positive. All though we are all very bummed about this she has a fabulous veterinarian that is taking care of her! She has started Gerti on her heartworm treatment protocol and says there is no reason why she can’t find a new home while she is undergoing treatment! Now we just need to find her that perfect place to call home! If you are interested in Gerti let us know.

Story
Winston is a real charmer! He wins the hearts of everyone he meets. He just showed up in a neighborhood looking for someone to love! After taking him to a vet clinic to be scanned for a microchip and posting him all over social media no owner came forward. Now Winston is looking for a new family. He seems to be extremely friendly with everyone he meets however we do not know how he would do with children. The doctor is guessing him to be about 7 - 8 years old. He seems to be house trained and has not been destructive in any way. He very much enjoys going for walks and likes to spend time outside. His biggest love is sitting in laps and giving kisses if he can get away with it! If you think Winston may be a match for you just let us know!
