Story
Mikko is a gentle, low-energy girl who thrives in a low-traffic home. She would do best in a calm environment with an experienced cat owner who is home most of the day and can give her the steady routine and attention she loves. Mikko has grown up around calm dogs—both small and large—and does well with them as long as they respect her space. However, she has had mixed experiences with other cats and has not been around children, so she would do best as the only cat in a home without energetic kiddos. She has made great progress with greeting visitors through positive reinforcement and will now happily say hello—especially if there’s a treat involved! Like many cats, she may continue to improve with patience and consistency. Mikko is an indoor-only cat but would absolutely enjoy a safe outdoor setup like a catio. Otherwise, she’s perfectly content basking in sunny windows and relaxing nearby. While she enjoys the occasional wand toy or catnip session, she’s truly happiest as a cozy cuddle buddy. Mikko does have a chronic condition called Feline Idiopathic Cystitis (FIC), which can cause UTI-like symptoms during flare-ups without the presence of bacteria. She also experiences some stress and anxiety. Her condition is well-managed with simple daily medication and an as-needed anti-inflammatory during flare-ups—all easily handled at home without frequent vet visits. Potential adopters are encouraged to research FIC to fully understand her needs. She may be shy at first and will need time, patience, and understanding to build trust—but once she bonds with you, Mikko is incredibly affectionate. She’s a professional lap cat with big purrs, and loves to show her affection through head bumps and kisses. Chin and cheek scratches are her favorites, though she’ll never turn down a good back pat. At night, if invited, Mikko will happily curl up beside you. Just be warned—you might wake up to her lovingly grooming your hair in true cat fashion!  Mikko live in Independence with her owner and her rehoming fee is $100.  Mikko is indoor only.   For more information on meeting and adopting this kitty, please fill out a pre-adoption application under "ADOPT" on our website at WWW.CATSCRADLERESCUE.COM. Story
Miller #1 and #2  are adult male cats that lived with their human mom until she was admitted to hospice care.  These brothers are shy but friendly.  The owner is not able to tell us their names or any extra information about them but they have had their neuter surgery and are presumed to be UTD on vaccines.   They are initially shy (as most cats can be after a radical life-change) but they will come around with love and attention after acclimation to their new home.   Miller #1 and #2 are Maine Coon mixes.  They live in Salem with their caregiver and are currently in a catio at her home but previously were indoor cats.  These cats are all males and live in Salem with their caregiver.  Adoption fee is $100 ea.  This pair of brothers will not be split up and must be rehomed together.   For more information on meeting and adopting this kitty, please fill out a pre-adoption application under "ADOPT" on our website at WWW.CATSCRADLERESCUE.COM.
