Why did the Chicken cross the road? To get to SNIPSA on the other side! This Chicken was forced to flee her coop with her sister, Gidget, after she lost her owner. With the help of a few concerned neighbors and a rescue team, she made her way to us for a second chance at life. Chicken is shy, but warming up oh so quickly in her foster home. She is a true testament to the way animals can still find trust in humans, even after abandonment. This girl loves hugs and is a total lap dog. She is curious and will follow you around at a cautious distance, but she is quickly closing the gap to become the Velcro dog of anyone’s dreams. Chicken is in need of some medical care, but SNIPSA is devoted to helping her recover from past neglect. She is receiving treatment for anaplasmosis, and we are evaluating a significant heart murmur. We are hoping that soon, she will regain good health and find unbridled happiness in a good home. So, will you share your heart with someone who really needs one? She is around 2 years old and weighs approximately 25 pounds, making her a wonderful medium-sized companion—perfect for cuddles, adventures, and everyday life. Laverne is being fostered in a home in Seguin, TX, where she has settled beautifully into a loving routine. Laverne is fully potty trained and crate trained, making her an easy transition into a new home. She is very dog friendly and truly enjoys the company of other dogs, whether it’s playtime in the yard or relaxing together after a busy day. One of her favorite pastimes is soaking up the sunshine—she loves curling up in a sunny spot by a window for a peaceful nap. This girl also loves to go places! Laverne loads easily into the car and enjoys standing on the console so she can see everything on the road ahead. Whether it’s a quick errand or a longer adventure, she’s always happy to ride along. She is leash trained and walks nicely, making daily strolls enjoyable. At heart, Laverne is a true cuddle bug. She adores being held, petted, and spending time close to her people. Bath time isn’t her favorite, but she tolerates baths well and handles them calmly.
