Story
Meet Cowboy, a sweet and energetic 8-month-old Papillon mix weighing 5 lbs.   Background: Cowboy was found running the streets as a stray. An owner couldn’t be located, so he was turned over to our rescue.   Personality: Cowboy’s sweet and affectionate nature suggests he was once loved. He adores meeting new people and loves to play with all kinds of toys. Cowboy is equally fond of running around and playing with dogs of all sizes. After an active play session, he loves nothing more than snuggling up with his humans for some quality cuddle time.   Health: Cowboy is healthy but underweight and should gain another pound or two. Cowboy is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He is due for one distemper/parvo booster vaccine the week of 8/4/25, which will bring him up to date for one year. Help a Dog Smile will pay for his vaccine at PAWS - The Modern Spay Neuter Clinic (Cave Creek & 101).  Training: Cowboy is a young pup and still learning the ropes. He is working on potty training in his foster home but will need continued training. He is quiet in his crate and sleeps through the night.  Ideal Home: Cowboy would thrive in a home where he can be the center of attention. He would likely get along well with children but can be mouthy when he plays. He enjoys the company of other dogs and would benefit from having a playful canine companion, but his rambunctious style of play may annoy some dogs. To ensure his safety, a secure, fenced-in yard is required. Because of his small size, Cowboy should never be left in a yard unsupervised.   Adoption Requirements: Cowboy’s adoption fee is $350. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think he could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application*: helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application  *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up.  July 19, 2025, 5:51 pm

Story
PWRESCUE.ORG Meet Foxy! Foxy is a 2 year-old, 11 pound female American blend with a whole lot of personality packed into her petite, fluffy frame! (Long-haired Chihuahua? Papillon? Pomeranian? We say she’s the best of all worlds!) She's fox smart, clever, and as charming as she is adorable.  She’s a quick learner, adores people, loves to snuggle, and is happiest when she’s playing catch, running around, or showing off her acrobatic skills. She would do best with at least one person from the household being home a good amount of time so they can get her plenty of outdoor and indoor play. She can be an only dog or gets along with most others. If Foxy is an only dog, you'll need to be an active owner - walks, runs, playing catch and keeping her clever mind occupied! She'd be a great candidate for learning agility runs, fly ball, and fun, hiking times with her humans.  If you have another dog, she'll do best with another calmer, non-reactive dog.  Foxy came to us when her previous owner could no longer care for her. Now she’s looking for a fresh start with a family who will give her all the love, playtime, and snuggles she deserves. She’s up to date on her vaccinations, spayed, and ready to leap right into her new life. Looking for a smart, loyal, spirited companion? Foxy might just be your perfect match.
