Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, January 25th from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $500     Teddy Bear is a 1 year old Papillon x Corgi mix who is as soft and cuddly as can be! TB was rescued from the shelter after his former home no longer wanted him past the puppy stages. This poor boy was very shut down when we saved him but we promised that his future would be amazing. Teddy Bear weighs 20 pounds and every ounce is full of cuteness and charm. He is absolutely adorable and he makes heads turn when he walks into the room.    Teddy Bear is a quiet and loving boy who is looking for a home ready to help him bloom! When he arrived at our rescue, he was very shy and skittish, not really sure what the world around him had to offer. After a few days of watching the resident family dogs, he started to come out of his shell and enjoy all the treats and snuggles we have to shower him with. However, interested homes should be ready to wait him out rather than force him to engage right away. You will need to go at his pace to see the amazing boy we know he is. Teddy would benefit from a home where his chosen human is almost always home as he has some (understandable) separation anxiety due to his past before rescue. We will be looking for a home who understands shy dogs and can demonstrate their readiness for Teddy Bear.  Teddy Bear has started playing with toys and loves squeaking his plushies. He would love a home where he can have all the toys and beds he desires! He is on the lower end of the energy scale, but we think he would be up for adventures once he feels more confident on a leash, though as of now he prefers the backyard. He is so soft and fluffy, it’s hard to resist running your hands through his pillowy fur. If you want kisses at the same time, he can even make that happen!  Teddy Bear starts his morning at 6:30 AM and checks out the house as his foster mom starts her day. He has breakfast at 8 AM and then goes out for some sun and potty time. During the day, TB’s ideal spot is under the desk as his foster mom works. He also loves to hang out with the resident dogs. He’s been getting his wrestling on as he gains his confidence. TB took a few days to figure out snuggling but now he jumps on the couch for cuddles without hesitation. After some TV time, Teddy Bear goes out for one last potty trip and sniff around the yard. He goes to his crate for the night at 10 PM and snoozes the night away.  Teddy adores his canine foster siblings and has gained a lot of confidence following them around. He loves dogs of all sizes and has even begun initiating play. Teddy needs support as he learns how to walk on a leash and gain his confidence, but we know the end results will be so gratifying. This loving boy can’t wait for you to take him off the shelf and bring him home!      Teddy is only an option for those who currently own a dog, as he needs a buddy to mirror, or a home where his human is always home. We are seeking an experienced home ready to work with Teddy Bear. Adults only for Mr. Teddy. January 30, 2025, 7:31 pm

With a name like Figment, you might think he’s imaginary, but trust us, this little guy is very real… especially at 5 AM when he’s ready to play. Figment starts his day like an over-caffeinated morning person—bouncing onto the bed, sticking his nose under your hand, and demanding ear scritches like a tiny, furry alarm clock. If you’re not ready to wake up, no worries—he’ll happily accept some half-asleep scratches before zooming off to play an epic game of tag with his foster brother, Dan. These two are like canine parkour artists, racing through the yard, under the shed, and anywhere else their little legs can take them. Don’t let his playful antics fool you—Figment is also a world-class snuggler. Once he trusts you (which doesn’t take long), he’s all about lap time and bedtime cuddles. He’ll happily snooze on top of you at night, and if you’re a fan of under-the-blanket snuggles, you might just have a new best friend. He follows his humans from room to room, but not in an overly clingy way—he just wants to keep tabs on his favorite people. Now, let’s talk about Figment’s hidden talent: escaping. If there’s a gap in your fence, a loose board, or even a suspiciously soft patch of dirt, he will find it, will exploit it, and will embark on a solo adventure. His foster family has done some serious home improvement to keep up with his Houdini-level skills. He’s a dog who needs secure fencing or someone who enjoys impromptu sprinting. Figment loves going for walks and is friendly with kids, cats, and other dogs—though he definitely enjoys being the boss. His leash skills are decent, but if something interesting crosses his path, he’ll pull like he’s trying to win a sled race. His excitement when people come home is unmatched—whether you’ve been gone all day or just stepped outside to check the mail, he’ll greet you like you’ve returned from a heroic quest. While he’s not a big chewer, Figment is a dedicated excavation specialist. His digging is mostly focused on escape tunnels, so if you’ve ever dreamed of building an impenetrable backyard fortress, he’ll help you identify weak spots. He’s potty trained, good with a pet door, and while he’s not a fan of crates, he’s okay with them in the car—though he’d prefer to be free-ranging, investigating every inch of the vehicle. Figment is the perfect mix of playful, cuddly, and adventurous. If you’re looking for a pint-sized explorer who will make you laugh, keep you on your toes, and snuggle up after a long day, Figment is your guy. Just be sure to double-check your fences!Figment is an option for a home that has had a dog previously. If there are children they need to be over the age of 5.February 6, 2025, 12:00 am

At just 14lbs, Gus is the perfect little companion—sweet, gentle, and incredibly low-maintenance. He’s been through a lot in his life, but he’s ready to leave his past behind and find a family who will love him the way he truly deserves. Gus is a calm, cuddly little guy who’s housetrained, crate-trained, and as sweet as they come. He may have been shy when he first arrived, but with a little patience and a lot of love, he’s turned into the perfect companion who just needs the right home to thrive. A Day in the Life of Gus Gus’s day starts bright and early at 6:30 AM, when he heads out for his morning potty break in the yard. After a little fresh air and a moment to stretch, it’s time to settle in for the morning with a peaceful nap, or maybe a little play with his dog friends. Gus is a man of simple pleasures—he’s happiest either lounging around or taking a peaceful stroll. He enjoys his walks, and he’s great on a leash. He doesn’t pull too much, and he’s never been interested in chasing squirrels or barking at other dogs. His walks, filled with sniffing and exploring, are the highlight of his day. Afterward, he enjoys some down time, whether it’s resting on a heating pad or looking out the living room window. Dinner comes around 5:30 or 6:00 PM, and Gus settles in for a quiet evening of relaxation. He heads to bed around 10 PM, knowing that tomorrow will bring another peaceful, loving day. A Heart Full of Love, and Ready for a Forever Home When Gus first came into his foster home, he was a little shy, maybe even a bit scared. But it didn’t take long for him to find his place and start blossoming into the gentle soul he is today. He’s not one for drama or loud noises—Gus is all about the quiet moments. He loves being near his humans but isn’t one to demand attention. He’s content to sit next to you on the couch or lay at your feet while you work. He’s the definition of calm and sweet. Gus doesn’t bark unless absolutely necessary (he even tried to bark at a cardboard box once, just to show you he’s still got some spunk!). He’s great with other dogs, especially those who are calm and gentle, and he’s been fine with visitors to the house, though he does warm up slowly to new people. Gus would thrive in a quieter home, where his easy-going nature is appreciated, and where someone who loves walking will be there to share in his joy. Why Gus Needs You Gus is a dog who needs your love, patience, and compassion. He has so much love to give, but he also needs someone who understands that he’s a little shy and prefers a calm, quiet environment. He’s not demanding and is the easiest dog you’ll ever meet. Gus won’t ask for much—just a warm lap, a few walks, and a family to call his own. If you’re someone who enjoys peaceful moments, quiet cuddles, and a loyal, sweet companion, Gus is the dog for you. He’ll give you all of his love in return, and you’ll have the privilege of watching him bloom into the loving, sweet little dog he’s meant to be. A Sweet Gus Story There’s not a lot of funny business with Gus—he’s more of a “sweep you off your feet with sweetness” kind of dog. But there’s one thing he does that’s guaranteed to make you smile: he’s camera shy to the extreme! Try to take a photo of this sweet boy, and he’ll do everything he can to mess it up. Maybe he thinks he’s just too handsome for the camera, but every time I try to snap a picture, Gus manages to look the other way or run out of the frame. He’s a little mischievous in his own way, and we love him even more for it. If you’re ready to give Gus the loving home he deserves, he’s waiting for you. His heart is big, his love is endless, and all he needs is a family to share it with. Could that be you? Come meet Gus today, and let him show you just how much joy he can bring into your life.Gus is an option for a home that has had a dog previously. If there are children in the home they need to be over the age of 8.  February 6, 2025, 4:04 am
