Story
Pepper has been part of our family for about 9 years. We adopted her from the Lange Foundation in Santa Monica. She was very timid/shy when we got her and she became very attached to Anna (her person). I would often bring her to the office with me pre-covid and she would hang out under my desk. She is territorial though, and would often bark at people who approached my desk. It was tolerable and we attempted some dog training classes but didn’t follow through with the behavioral training as much as we should’ve. She is pretty solitary and has the personality of a cat. When Anna is away from home, she spends a lot of time under our bed or in her bed. When Anna is home, she’s energized. We now have a 1 year old toddler who doesn’t understand personal space or boundaries, and Pepper will growl at him when he crosses her boundary. She has never bitten anyone, but she has strong “get away from me” energy when anyone but her person enters her space. She is fiercely loyal to her person.

Story
Shrimp is a very lucky dog. A wonderful volunteer from Bobbies Street Cats witnessed her being tossed from a car in the middle of the night. She jumped in her car and scooped her up and got her to our Vet at Sherman Oaks Vet Group. They got her stable and assessed the damage. Dislocated hips and a lot of pain. Hope for Paws offered to cover her surgery at Cares. Rescue is a group effort. Everyone jumped in to help Shrimp. She has made a remarkable recovery in her wonderful foster home (where she fell in love with their cat) and is doing great. In spite of the level of cruelty that brought her to us, Shrimp remains loving and kind. She gets along great with all people and dogs and as we said, loves cats. Not a clue what her mix is...we're guessing lovebug mixed with kitty lover.

Story
Lovely Little Lady....Meet Our Lilac! This pretty girl is an approx 3 year old, 12lb, Papillon/Chihuahua mix. She was dumped and abandoned on the street of LA by her owner who never came back for her. Neighbors reported that she waited on the same street in the same spot for over a week. Thankfully, a kind person got her to safety and reached out to us for help. We gladly took her in, had her scanned for a microchip (there wasnt one), and put her on a proper stray hold, but nobody ever stepped up to claim her. We then officially brought her into our foundation and named her Lilac. We would love to see her in a home with another playful pup and a safe and secure yard to run around in. Owners that are not gone long hours during the day would be ideal. Lilac has such a sweet and good natured personality and demeanor. She is always the one at our adoption events that is just perfection with everyone she meets...adults, kids, and dogs! She is not 100% potty trained, so a home with a yard and a home with a patient owner would be exactly what she needs. Lilac's owner abandoned, dumped, and let her down, yet she still has such a love for life and we promised her that we will find her the best forever home out there! Lilac is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. We only adopt in the Greater LA areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial are required. Story
Shirley is a sweet, gentle Papillon/Spaniel mix who is about 3 years and weighs 16 pounds.  She's beautiful outside as well as inside.  She is very gentle with a docile personality  Her owner gave her up because they had no time for her.   Shirley is friendly with other dogs and has been around them.  I'm sure she would be good with kids based on her submissive demeanor.  She has a pretty coat that doesn't shed.  She bonds quickly and she's good on a leash and not reactive to peopleor dogs that pass.  Shirley has all her shots, is chipped and spayed.  If you're interested, please fill out the application on our website bichonsandbuddies.com.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 8, 2026, 12:16 am

Story
Meet Eevee! A charming fourteen-year-old Pomeranian/Papillon mix currently in Chula Vista, CA, Eevee is open to a loving home anywhere in the U.S. Weighing in at a petite 13 pounds, Eevee carries herself with a confident, friendly presence and a heart that leans deeply into companionship. She knows her manners too, happily showing off commands like sit, turn around, up, and down, especially when there is a bit of praise or a tasty reward involved! Eevee is the kind of girl who thrives as a constant companion. She enjoys staying close to her people, joining in on daily routines, and riding comfortably in the car for little adventures. Outings to parks and the beach have helped her blossom into a more active and bright version of herself, and she truly lights up when she gets to explore the world alongside her favorite humans. While she does well when left alone for short periods, her heart is happiest when she has company nearby. Her personality is warm and welcoming with people of all ages, including young children, and she approaches life with a mix of curiosity and affection. With other dogs, Eevee is a bit selective. She communicates clearly, sometimes barking when larger or more energetic dogs approach too quickly, as she prefers calmer introductions and respectful space. Eevee does require some thoughtful care. She is managing a collapsed trachea and sensitive skin that may be related to allergies, and she benefits from regular grooming, dental chews, and attentive health support. She may also need dental work in the future, and her caregiver should be prepared to continue meeting these needs with patience and consistency. Toward the end of a cozy day, Eevee’s sweetest side shines through as she relaxes beside those she trusts. She would be compatible with a caring family who can offer her individual attention and a calm, loving environment. Could your home be the next chapter in her gentle, golden story?
