Story
Name: Lady Nickname: Chocolate Breed: Papillon mix? Long-haired Chihuahua? Anyone’s guess! Age: 2 years est. Sex: Female Weight: 10 lbs Before OMD: Found as a stray with bad cherry eye, which has since been corrected. What we love most: Sweet, loving, cuddly, and just a really lovely little dog. She’s chill and affectionate with a fun, sassy personality that comes out once she feels comfortable. What she loves most: Toys, food, people, walks, and snuggling. She especially loves plush toys and will happily take every toy out of the bin and scatter them around the house. Cuddly or independent: Definitely cuddly! Lady loves sitting on your lap while you work and curling up with you on the couch, but she’s also perfectly happy entertaining herself. Working on: Confidence with new people. She can be fearful and vocal when meeting strangers, but give her a few minutes and she warms up and shows you her sweet personality. She’s also working on stairs and becoming fully house trained. Dogs: Great with other dogs so far and starting to play with her (small) foster dog siblings. No aggression or resource guarding. Cats: Unknown but we suspect she would be just fine Kids: Dog-savvy 8 + please since she can be fearful House trained: About 75% there and continuing to improve. Crate trained: Will tolerate the crate; recently graduated from the crate overnight to sleeping in the bed. You should also know: Lady’s mischievous side is coming out. She has figured out how to open cabinets and closed doors and has recently discovered the garbage. Lady is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. She can be adopted to residents of CT and surrounding states. Please complete an application if interested in adopting.

Story
Meet Lady and Rose! They are 4 year old what-we-believe-to-be sisters that weigh 10lbs and 13lbs respectively. They are adorable Papillon/Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mixes that are simply adorable in every way, shape, and form! These girls are a bonded pair that wish to find their furever home together. Lady and Rose are medium energy pups that just want some fun daily walkies, they do love to play together and have moments of zoomies and rough housing! Afterwards they are happy to chill. Watching them form a cozy cuddle puddle together is just heartwarming. Oh, and Lady does the cutest balance on her hind legs begging for food/attention! We would love to find them a home where they can be the queens of the castle together. They definitely deserve it. Lady and Rose would love a quiet home and would also entertain a home with gentle children 12 years and older. For more information, please contact Jenn at jenn.w@poainc.org AND submit an application at www.poainc.org .

Story
Peebles is the kind of little dog who walks into a room and somehow becomes the center of attention without even trying. This tiny 8-pound Papillon/Chihuahua mix is about 3 years old, and she has already perfected the art of making people fall completely in love with her. She is a little social butterfly who thinks the world is wonderful and everyone in it is a potential best friend. Dogs, cats, people—Peebles loves them all!And then there is her favorite thing in the world: your lap. The second you sit down, Peebles believes that is where she belongs. She is a true cuddlebug who wants to be close, loved, held, and included. She isn’t the kind of dog who is happy admiring you from across the room. She wants to be your little shadow and your constant companion. She is also an absolute showstopper. Those adorable Papillon ears, her tiny size, sweet face, and happy little personality make her incredibly hard to resist. Peebles has a way of making people smile the moment they meet her, and she seems to genuinely believe everyone she encounters is simply a new friend waiting to be loved.Peebles is still working on her house training. She was previously trained to use pee pads, so she has a foundation and is now learning to make the transition to going outside. Leash walking is also a work in progress, but she is learning. What she really wants is a securely fenced little yard where she can run, play, sniff, and enjoy some carefree time without being attached to a leash. She doesn’t need a huge yard—just a safe fenced space where she can be a happy little dog. And she absolutely loves to prance around her foster mom’s yard!Peebles is currently in a foster home in Nashville, Tennessee, and she can travel on Critter Cavalry Rescue’s weekend transport to the right forever family. She may be tiny, but she has a huge personality and even more love to give. If you have been looking for a little companion who will happily become your shadow, your lap warmer, your adventure buddy, and your very best friend, Peebles may be the little girl you’ve been waiting for.If you think your lap might be the one Peebles has been looking for, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.August 24, 2026, 1:25 pm

Story
Grace was surrendered to a shelter with her housemate Rocky. Both were scheduled to be euthanized within the week due to fear/anxiety/stress within the shelter. Pulled by this rescue on their scheduled D-Day, Grace had pneumonia and obvious ongoing malnutrition. Once out of the shelter environment she began to open up to her foster Mom. Pneumonia was treated, she was able to get spayed, and now she is a zig zag wiggleworm of excitement! She is silly, fun, playful, happy, fetches, wrestles, and gives kisses! You have to earn her trust before she comes to you, but that is a fair ask! Currently working on potty training and getting more weight on her and leash training. Goal will be about 25#. She will excel in a home with a fenced yard, daily exercise (she has plenty of energy now!) and people who understand her wariness of anything/anyone. She is an absolute doll that will melt your heart. She takes treats from yiur hands like a sneaky raccoon… slowly and carefully, then runs off to eat them! Story
Hello! I was given Bear when he was just a puppy in 2021. He was born April 1st. He’s a nice boy, honestly he does get territorial and aggressive only when he is scared or provoked. I am looking for someone who has worked with dogs (in regards of house training and aggression training). He has never been around other dogs due to the fact that he was attacked by pit bulls and since then he is weary around other dogs. I do have a cat in which he tolerates, when he was a puppy he was also attacked by another outside cat. Disregarding the troubles he has gone through, I know with the right care he’ll be the best boy on the planet and I am truly just looking for a better home that I sadly could not give him. His last shots were in 2022 and he has not been microchipped or neutered because I cannot afford too. He loves to run around and he loves belly rubs once comfortable. I’m not looking for any fee and I don’t want to give him up to a shelter. I can wait however long until he’s safe!
