Story
Meet Kip! Kip is a certified tiny gentleman who is so fluffy, so sweet, and so easygoing.
Kip has exactly zero teeth and a resume that includes being surrendered to the same shelter not once but twice - first in 2020 and again recently, both times through no fault of his own. He deserves so much better, and luckily he's finally getting it.
Upon arrival, Kip was very thin and his skin and coat were a filthy mess. But he patiently let us get to work, and now his glow-up is well underway. He’s nervous, but sweet. Indifferent to other dogs and at least partially blind, but don’t let that fool you: he motors around just fine. We got Kip to the vet where he absolutely stole the show. The vet tech kissed him, announced she had to parade him around the back, and once the door closed we heard 2–3 solid minutes of nonstop gushing over what a precious baby boy he is.
Kip has now settled right into his foster home. He is incredibly alert and engaged - so much so that his foster mom often forgets how little he can actually see. One morning he greeted her with a quick, joyful bow ~ not to play, but to say good morning. Her heart almost burst! He follows her around like a baby duckling, and when he's not snuggling with her he's curled up in his favorite bed with high, fluffy walls that make him feel safe and cozy.
Besides his foster mom, Kip is most excited that he has a fenced yard to explore. He has his paws crossed that his forever home will have one too. He doesn't seem to have any experience walking on a leash, but he's working hard to learn. He's also working on his housetraining skills and doing great with a belly band for now. He sleeps through the night and will stay home alone when his humans are out with only a little barking and whining in protest.
Kip is a healthy eater and easily bribed with a few chicken nuggies. He doesn't need a ton of exercise or playtime but he would like lots of snuggles. He would love a home with another dog to pal around with and would prefer humans who are home with him most of the time to snuggle with him. Due to visual limitations, Kip needs a lift going up and down stairs. Kip will need to be on a heart medication, due to a murmur, in order to keep his heart pumping well.
Kip's forever family is in for so much love and joy. If you’d like to help this tiny king continue to heal and and live his best toothless life, apply today to meet him!
Kip is approximately 13 years old and 7 lbs.
