Story
Kirk may be small at just 6 pounds, but his journey has been anything but easy. This handsome, fluffy Papillon/Chihuahua mix is around 1–2 years old and is learning what it means to live a life filled with safety, affection, and choice — things he never had before.  Kirk was rescued from an extreme hoarding and breeding situation where over 140 dogs were living without proper care or socialization. Because of this, he entered foster care fearful and unsure of human touch. Trust did not come easily — but love has been changing everything. In his foster home, Kirk has begun to soften. With patience and consistency, he is discovering that laps are for cuddling, voices can be gentle, and attention can be something to enjoy rather than fear. He now seeks out affection and loves being close to his people, especially when he feels secure. Kirk is still on a confidence-building journey. He will benefit from daily walks, positive reinforcement, and a calm environment where he can continue learning at his own pace. A fenced yard would be a wonderful bonus, and a home with older children or adults who understand his sensitive nature would be ideal. He is crate trained and continuing to improve with house training. Kirk is not a finished story — he is the beginning of one. A story of resilience, healing, and a dog finally becoming who he was always meant to be. If you have the patience to earn his trust (it won't take long) and the heart to love him through his transformation, Kirk will repay you with loyalty, devotion, and the quiet joy of watching a once-frightened dog flourish. While volunteers review applications as quickly as possible, it is helpful if you review the following information about our adoption process:LISTED BREED(S) & AGE: We are taking our best guess on age, breed, and size when fully grown, based on the dog's physical appearance and what we might have learned about one or both parents. We rarely know a dog's exact age or full breed mix of dogs, as our information is usually limited.RNR’s ADOPTION PROCESS: The first step in adopting or meeting one of our adoptable pups is to fill out an application at www.rescueallthedogs.org/adopt. Once we receive your application, one of our volunteers will contact you, review our adoption process, and answer any additional questions you may have. It is important to note that we do not go on a first-come-first-serve basis for adoptions but on the best fit for a family and, most importantly, the dog.MEETING ADOPTABLE DOGS: Meet and greets will not be scheduled until your adoption application is submitted and reviewed.APPLYING ONLINE: When completing an application, please do so from a computer (not a mobile device); make sure you answer ALL the questions in as much detail as possible and that you receive a confirmation email. ##2646074##

Story
Tommy Pickle is the kind of dog who doesn’t just love you… he chooses you. Around two years old, this adorable little guy has a heart that bonds deeply and completely. When Tommy decides you’re his person, that’s it — you’re his whole world, forever and always. Check out all of his cuteness in his YouTube video https://youtu.be/PC77CU3Xf6g?si=nGPfHBNhWpUMJCaB He may be a little shy when you first meet him, but give him just a moment and you’ll see the magic happen. Once he trusts you, Tommy melts into the most loyal, affectionate companion. He loves being close, being held, tagging along everywhere you go, and soaking up every second by your side. His attachment is pure, gentle, and honestly so adorable to witness. Tommy is currently thriving in a foster home with another dog and does wonderfully — they cuddle, play, and keep each other company. He’s also a very chill little guy at heart. Tommy loves naps, lounging, and relaxing just as much as he enjoys his walks. When he’s tired, he’ll sweetly look up at you, waiting to be picked up like the baby he truly believes he is. His personality is big and goofy in the cutest way. He loves sitting in window seals like a tiny cat, watching the world go by. His short little legs, tiny size, and silly habits make him impossible not to smile at. He’s truly one of those dogs that just steals your heart without trying. Tommy sees kids regularly at his foster’s apartment complex and does great with them — he happily accepts pets and attention and clearly enjoys their love. Because of this, we believe he would do well in a home with kids. He currently lives in an apartment and does great, but he would also do well in a house. Most importantly, Tommy would thrive with someone who is home often or loves taking their dog along for daily adventures. He’s happiest when he’s near his person and part of everything they do. Tommy Pickle is small, sweet, a little silly, deeply loving, and full of personality. He’s the kind of dog who will curl into your heart and never leave. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who will love you endlessly, Tommy is waiting for you. Adopt him now! Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
