Story
Meet Fennekin: tiny body, busy brain, and a whole lot of personality 🦊🐾 Fennekin is a 2 year old, 11lb Papillon Mix who is super cute and playful and knows exactly what he likes—and what he does not. He LOVES dogs his own size and is all about playtime, zoomies, and small-dog shenanigans. Bigger dogs, however? Not his vibe. He’d be happiest in a home with small dogs only, where he can feel confident and relaxed without feeling outmatched. He’s a fun-loving pup with a slightly anxious baseline, which sometimes shows up as a shrill bark when he’s unsure—but the good news is, he settles down fairly quickly and doesn’t stay worked up. Because he’s sensitive and still learning to navigate the world, he’d do best in a home without young children and with people who understand that little dogs can have big feelings. On the home-life front, Fennekin is doing well! He eats great, is excellent in his crate, and is improving with his outdoor potty habits. Indoors, he currently wears a belly band while he continues to work through marking behaviors—progress is being made with consistency and routine. Once he feels comfortable, Fennekin’s true personality shines: cuddly, playful, silly, and always ready for action. He loves toys, loves to zoom, and really wants a small dog friend to play with. New people make him a bit nervous at first, but give him a little time and patience, and he warms up nicely. The adoption fee is $500. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
Meet Bowie!Bowie is your new best friend whether you know it or not...and whether you like it or not.Bowie is a whole entire 8lbs and most of it is the fluff on his tail and the long luscious locks on his ears. He's a papillon mix, about a year old, and definitely still acts like a puppy so make sure you have the time and patience for all things puppy before you jump all over him just because he's the cutest thing you've ever seen.If happiness had a physical form, it would be Bowie. He doesn't stop wiggling. Ever. He has the happiest tippy tappy toe dance in the world, his tail is never not wagging, and all he wants to do is climb all over you and cover your face in kisses and, yes, that does include inside your ears and up your nose if you're not careful. He isn't terrible on a leash but could use some training because he tends to lose focus when he gets excited which is, like, always. He loves other dogs and loves people so when he sees them, it's immediate uncontrollable joy and he forgets all of his leash manners. He's great with strangers and wants to say hello to everyone he sees. Since he's such a happy, outgoing guy, we would be comfortable placing him with kids 5+. He also does just fine with cats and, again, he LOVES other dogs. He is high energy and does have the tendency to be underfoot so keep that in mind.To apply, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application.
