You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Alfredo is a sweet, fluffy little guy with a gentle heart and a playful spirit once he settles in. When he first arrived, he was a bit unsure of his new surroundings, but it didn’t take long for his true personality to shine through. After a short warm-up period, Alfredo shows himself to be an affectionate, fun-loving pup who enjoys being close to his people. He has a moderate energy level and enjoys playing with toys, but he’s just as happy hanging out nearby. One of his cutest habits is laying right at your feet while you’re getting ready — he clearly loves being close and keeping an eye on his person. Because of this, adopters should be aware that he may present as a trip hazard as he tends to stick close once he’s comfortable. Alfredo is still building confidence in new environments and with new people, but he warms up within a few minutes and becomes friendly and engaging. He is eager to please, gentle by nature, and does well with small dogs. He can be vocal at times, particularly when other dogs are barking or if he is confined in a kennel. He does not enjoy being crated, but this hasn’t posed an issue in his foster home. Alfredo has done well being left out when his foster is away, especially in a home with a doggy door, which suits him best. Because of this, a home that can accommodate his preference for freedom rather than confinement will help him thrive. Alfredo was found as a stray, so much of his early history is unknown. He was slightly underweight when he arrived but is otherwise in good condition and doing well with consistent care and nutrition. Alfredo would do best in a patient, understanding home that will give him a little time to adjust and continue building his confidence. In return, he offers sweetness, companionship, and a loyal little shadow who just wants to be near you! Story
Meet Nilla Bean a 5 year old Papillon and Chihuahua mix, who is a happy story of transformation.  While she still has spicy energy and excitement about life as a dog, she is far from the resource guarding pup she was 2 months ago.  She has learned how to play with toys to amuse herself, and incorporate the zoomies alone or with an agreeable dog to expel excess energy.   She also tolerates timeouts in the crate when she gets overwhelmed.  She loves to explore the fenced in yard and shows no signs of wanting to escape.  She occasionally potties in the house but mostly she does her business outside.  She would benefit from walks or dog park visits (after she has bonded with her human).  She loves snuggles and massages and sleeps happily through the night with her humans.  She settled well in the car the few times she’s been a passenger.  She’s a vigilant pup, noticing every movement or sound, and does bark at new noises or people.  For new people visiting, I have her on leash or in the crate until they are in and settled so she can sniff and check things out without the stress of arrival greetings and movement.  She is more comfortable every week with new experiences.  She responds to calm instructions, such as ‘you’re ok’, or ‘come here’ or ‘no bark’ etc.  She is treat and food motivated and in general is learning to trust people and a loving home.  I’m not sure how she would do with kids or cats, but again if they take it slow, I  think she will do fine.  A playful confident resident dog would be great for her, although I think with enough socialization she would also do well as an only dog.  She’s just waiting and improving her doggy skills for her forever family.   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. She plays well with the other young, small, high-energy pup in her foster home. She hasn't been around cats in her foster home. Hi, my name is Sunny. I am from Minnesota. From his foster: This handsome boy is a lover. He loves to warm laps and give kisses. Sunny enjoys snuggling with and wrestling with Smokey. He is doing well with potty training when taken out on a regular schedule. Looking for an energetic cuddle bug with a big personality? This guy is ready to fill the position. Sunny does well sleeping in his kennel through the night. It takes time to earn Sunny's trust but once you do, he will love you and protect you. He loves to ride in the car and enjoys the outdoors. We are currently working with Sunny on his trust and fear of strangers, due to his protective nature I feel he would do best in a home with older respectful children or adults. Sunny would thrive in a calm, patient home that will give him the time and love he deserves. Sunny has done really well with our cats and other dogs.
