Alfredo is a sweet, fluffy little guy with a gentle heart and a playful spirit once he settles in. When he first arrived, he was a bit unsure of his new surroundings, but it didn’t take long for his true personality to shine through. After a short warm-up period, Alfredo shows himself to be an affectionate, fun-loving pup who enjoys being close to his people. He has a moderate energy level and enjoys playing with toys, but he’s just as happy hanging out nearby. One of his cutest habits is laying right at your feet while you’re getting ready — he clearly loves being close and keeping an eye on his person. Because of this, adopters should be aware that he may present as a trip hazard as he tends to stick close once he’s comfortable. Alfredo is still building confidence in new environments and with new people, but he warms up within a few minutes and becomes friendly and engaging. He is eager to please, gentle by nature, and does well with small dogs. He can be vocal at times, particularly when other dogs are barking or if he is confined in a kennel. He does not enjoy being crated, but this hasn’t posed an issue in his foster home. Alfredo has done well being left out when his foster is away, especially in a home with a doggy door, which suits him best. Because of this, a home that can accommodate his preference for freedom rather than confinement will help him thrive. Alfredo was found as a stray, so much of his early history is unknown. He was slightly underweight when he arrived but is otherwise in good condition and doing well with consistent care and nutrition. Alfredo would do best in a patient, understanding home that will give him a little time to adjust and continue building his confidence. In return, he offers sweetness, companionship, and a loyal little shadow who just wants to be near you!

Hi, my name is Sunny. I am from Minnesota. From his foster: This handsome boy is a lover. He loves to warm laps and give kisses. Sunny enjoys snuggling with and wrestling with Smokey. He is doing well with potty training when taken out on a regular schedule. Looking for an energetic cuddle bug with a big personality? This guy is ready to fill the position. Sunny does well sleeping in his kennel through the night. It takes time to earn Sunny's trust but once you do, he will love you and protect you. He loves to ride in the car and enjoys the outdoors. We are currently working with Sunny on his trust and fear of strangers, due to his protective nature I feel he would do best in a home with older respectful children or adults. Nilla Bean has been in rescue for a few months now and has morphed into a great dog. She would do well as an additional dog, or could go solo. She loves to play with dogs of all sizes, and really reads the room, coaxing but never aggressive. When alone, she plays with toys, chews on a treat, or drags her bed around. She can stay alone in the house and doesn’t get into mischief. She is potty trained to go outside, and I’m currently leaving a reusable pee pad by the back door in case I miss her cues. She has used it only twice in the last two weeks. She does really well in the car, staying in the back seat in her bed. She’s ok on the leash and would probably love walks and trips to the dog park. She was on a large acreage at our farm in the country for a couple of weeks, and loved running in the yard. She currently has access to a fenced yard and isn’t an escape artist. She loves her people and has no interest in running away. She is vigilant with outside motion and sounds and can get caught up in barking at trucks and people. At this point, it’s her most challenging trait. In a quiet neighborhood she hardly barks at all. So perhaps an apartment or condo wouldn’t be the best option, although she is quite smart and I believe she could be trained. She behaves well at the groomer for nail trims but did need distractions for the job to get done. She has a beautiful thick coat of fur, and doesn’t mind below zero temps especially when there’s a squirrel to chase. She loves belly rubs and massages and snuggles as well. She hasn’t been around young children so I can’t speak to this.
