Story
Glorious DivaMEET HOWIE! Howard is howling for his forever home for the holidays. No literally, he is. If you ask him, he’ll tell you. He speaks his own language that only his closest friends understand. He calls it Pawtugese or just plain Howie-isms. He has a few he’s especially proud of - goose honk bark, dolphin squeak, puppy penguin chirp, and wolf-in training. Every Tuesday night, he prepares for his Home for the Howlidays wobbly violin solo.  Howard is a papillon mix, approximately 4 years old, weighing in at a lean 13.5 pounds. This boy might have a tiny frame, but he has a huge personality. Howie likes to play, play, play. He enjoys entertaining himself, but he also likes to romp around with his foster siblings. He plays Catch me if you Can with his 60 lb. pittie brother and 12 pound rat terrier sister. He likes dogs of all shapes and sizes. And when he’s ready to unwind, he can fetch a movie and cuddle with the best of them. He loves to be curled right next to his hooman; there’s no place he’d rather be. His foster family calls him the papillon paperclip - attached to his people. Even though he loves the attention, spending time by himself  isn’t so bad. He’s crate trained and has no problem spending a few hours alone while his people are out earning high value treat money for His Majesty. Howard loves his walks and does well on a leash; he enjoys being outdoors. He needs a Mommy or Daddy who will exercise him both physically and mentally. This boy is more than just a lap dog. He is highly food motivated, so training should be a breeze and fun! He is eager to learn and become the best boy he can be. He is pretty much obsessed with toys. He likes to play fetch with his mini tennis ball. He always chases it and picks it up and makes a run for it - sometimes it’s to bring it back to his human, other times he just runs around with it and plays his own game. He can zoomy with the best of ‘em. Howard does the cutest I Dream of Genie nose twitch, especially when he wants a treat. His foster family thinks it’s just a manipulation tactic; this boy is smart! Howie is house trained and loves exploring in his fenced-in yard. He hasn’t been tested with cats, but his foster family is confident that with proper introductions, he’ll be just fine. If children are in your home, Howie would do best with kids over 12. If you’re ready for this pint-sized pappy who thinks he’s fit for a throne but will settle for your lap, apply for this diva today! Howard’s adoption donation fee is $500, which includes spay/neuter, routine vetting and a microchip. You can apply for him by filling out our online application, which is found on our website www.tarashouse.org.  Please email us at info@tarashouse.net with any questions.November 18, 2025, 4:18 pm
