Story
Glorious DivaMEET HOWIE! Howard is howling for his forever home for the holidays. No literally, he is. If you ask him, he’ll tell you. He speaks his own language that only his closest friends understand. He calls it Pawtugese or just plain Howie-isms. He has a few he’s especially proud of - goose honk bark, dolphin squeak, puppy penguin chirp, and wolf-in training. Every Tuesday night, he prepares for his Home for the Howlidays wobbly violin solo.  Howard is a papillon mix, approximately 4 years old, weighing in at a lean 13.5 pounds. This boy might have a tiny frame, but he has a huge personality. Howie likes to play, play, play. He enjoys entertaining himself, but he also likes to romp around with his foster siblings. He plays Catch me if you Can with his 60 lb. pittie brother and 12 pound rat terrier sister. He likes dogs of all shapes and sizes. And when he’s ready to unwind, he can fetch a movie and cuddle with the best of them. He loves to be curled right next to his hooman; there’s no place he’d rather be. His foster family calls him the papillon paperclip - attached to his people. Even though he loves the attention, spending time by himself  isn’t so bad. He’s crate trained and has no problem spending a few hours alone while his people are out earning high value treat money for His Majesty. Howard loves his walks and does well on a leash; he enjoys being outdoors. He needs a Mommy or Daddy who will exercise him both physically and mentally. This boy is more than just a lap dog. He is highly food motivated, so training should be a breeze and fun! He is eager to learn and become the best boy he can be. He is pretty much obsessed with toys. He likes to play fetch with his mini tennis ball. He always chases it and picks it up and makes a run for it - sometimes it’s to bring it back to his human, other times he just runs around with it and plays his own game. He can zoomy with the best of ‘em. Howard does the cutest I Dream of Genie nose twitch, especially when he wants a treat. His foster family thinks it’s just a manipulation tactic; this boy is smart! Howie is house trained and loves exploring in his fenced-in yard. He hasn’t been tested with cats, but his foster family is confident that with proper introductions, he’ll be just fine. If children are in your home, Howie would do best with kids over 12. If you’re ready for this pint-sized pappy who thinks he’s fit for a throne but will settle for your lap, apply for this diva today! Howard’s adoption donation fee is $500, which includes spay/neuter, routine vetting and a microchip. You can apply for him by filling out our online application, which is found on our website www.tarashouse.org.  Please email us at info@tarashouse.net with any questions.November 18, 2025, 4:18 pm

Story
About Me Who remembers Madeline, the adorable and precocious 7-year-old who attended Boarding school in France? Genevieve was her spunky, helpful, and loyal dog. Such a fitting name for this gorgeous Papillon mix. Gigi is indeed a very loyal companion! If you are looking for a best friend, you have found your match! She insists on being within a couple of feet of her favorite humans, but is not a lap dog per se. She gets along with her housemates, but clearly would be delighted to be an only dog, too. Gigi is happy to go on short walks and will go out as many times as her best friend is willing to take her. Won’t you give this loveable and gorgeous lady a forever home? My Profile Age: 11 years old Weight: 10 lbs Good with kids: yes Good with dogs: yes Good with cats: unknown Fenced yard required: No Town house or apartment: yes House trained: working on it Crate trained: Doesn't prefer crates, but will travel in one. If you are interested in adopting or fostering this dog. Please visit our website - www.cockeradoptions.org   There, you will find the current status of the dog, the links to our adoption and foster applications, and detailed information about our adopting and fostering procedures.   ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Natasha, and I just arrived at CSAC. I was rescued from a puppy mill. I have spent my life in a barn, a shed or a cage. The CSAC volunteer said that I am very sweet, not afraid to approach people to say hello and constantly wagging my tail. I do have a pancreas issue that requires medication added to my food to keep it under control. I do have a grade 3 of 6 heart murmur. The best home for me has people who have dog experience who can help with my training and acclimating to the outside world. The people in my new home should be able to teach me the skills I need to be a great pet: walking on a lead, house training, and socializing. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with CSAC. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will help me to understand that I am a cherished family pet, not just an animal to be used to make money. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen.
