Story
We got Winston, born in October 2015, as a puppy. He is a friendly dog and likes to bond with his owner. He really enjoys walking and won't leave your side. He likes attention and would prefer not to compete with other pets. He is a great traveler -- we have driven all the way to Florida with him in the car. He has also been fine at home alone with a pet sitter visiting when we have traveled and couldn't take him with us. He would be great for an individual or couple who need a companion.

Meet Asha! At 13 years young and a whopping 8 pounds, Asha is a tiny lady with a big appreciation for the finer things in life: cozy beds, tasty treats, and absolutely no unnecessary excitement. This sweet little Terrier is a professional couch potato who believes retirement should involve plenty of snuggling and very few responsibilities. She's friendly with people, gets along with dogs and cats, and has a particularly funny habit of sneaking into her foster sister Taffy's bed. The moment Taffy comes looking for her spot, Asha makes a quick exit. Apparently, this little lady knows exactly how far she can push her luck! Asha is blind and has some hearing loss, but she's perfectly content enjoying life at her own leisurely pace. She has cataracts and dry eyes that require daily medication, although she'd like it officially noted that eye drops are not her favorite activity. She also has a small skin condition on her lower back that has been treated and is healing. Asha isn't leash-trained, so a fenced-in yard is a must. She does best with a consistent routine, including potty breaks every few hours, and needs help navigating stairs. She's perfectly comfortable relaxing at home without her humans and doesn't need to be crated. She can also ride in the car, although a secure carrier or doggie car seat helps her feel more comfortable. Her dream home? Somewhere quiet and calm, with a family who appreciates a slower pace, enjoys snuggling, and is home much of the day. She would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a sweet little shadow to share their days. Asha may not need much excitement in her life, but she has plenty of love to give. Meet Pumpkin! This sweet little lady was surrendered to a shelter with a request for euthanasia, not because she was ready to die, but because her human’s health was failing and there was nowhere else for her to land. Fortunately Pumpkin made her way to us, but she arrived carrying the quiet weight of long-neglected illness. Her eyes were infected and diseased, her mouth ravaged by severe dental disease, and her body fighting bacterial cystitis. Layered over everything else, she received a new diagnosis of diabetes - a condition that demands consistency, monitoring, and care. None of this happened overnight. This is what happens slowly, when medical needs outpace resources, and a small senior dog is left to endure more than she ever should. Despite all of this, Pumpkin is a sweet, tolerant girl who loves snuggles and belly rubs above all else. Well, maybe not above food - she LOVES eating and has a sassy bark she deploys to make sure dinner is served exactly on time and humans dispense the proper amount of treats throughout the day. Even though she's mostly blind, she loves exploring her foster mom's yard and has no problem navigating it. Pumpkin is approximately 12 years old and 5 lbs.
