Meet Lucky! 🐾
Lucky is such a sweet, smart girl with so much love to give. She ended up in rescue after her family lost their home, so she’s still figuring out that the world can be kind and safe again. Because of that, she’s naturally a little shy and cautious when meeting new people and will need someone patient who can give her the time she needs to feel comfortable.
Home Life & Personality: At home, Lucky will let you know when someone is coming to the door, but she’s much more relaxed out on walks and doesn’t bark at people or other dogs. She’d do best in a calm, predictable environment where she can settle in at her own pace.
Once she feels safe, her personality really shines! She loves lounging on the couch, “watching” TV with her people, and rolling over for belly rubs—lots of them! In fact, if you stop too soon, she might gently remind you that she’s not quite done yet. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, great in the car, and walks nicely on a leash.
Her Favorite Things: Lucky absolutely LOVES being outside—whether she’s going for a walk, soaking up the sun, or just listening to the birds. She also enjoys keeping an eye on everything happening outside the window from her favorite spot on the couch.
Mealtime is definitely her favorite part of the day, and she loves playing with her toys—whether it's a good game of fetch or just running around proudly with a toy in her mouth. At just over 2 years old, she still has a few puppy-like habits, including being a little mouthy, but her foster family is successfully working to redirect that behavior toward her toys.
Routine & Boundaries: Her crate is her safe space; if she ever feels overwhelmed, she’ll go there to relax and recharge. Because she's not a fan of being grabbed or held, she would do best in an adult-only home or one with older, respectful kids. She can be a bit protective of her kennel and may be uncomfortable if strangers reach for her, so she’ll thrive with someone who understands her boundaries and helps others respect them too.
She has her own sweet way of communicating. Sometimes she just wants to lie next to you without being touched, and other times she’ll give your hand a little lick to say, “Okay, I’m ready for pets now!” (As her foster mom, my hands have never been cleaner!)
Dog & Cat Compatibility: We’ve been told Lucky gets along well with cats and has even been around poultry (though her current foster home doesn’t have either). With other dogs, she can be a bit nervous and will need slow, thoughtful introductions.
The Perfect Match: Lucky isn’t looking for a perfect home—just a patient heart, a cozy couch, and someone willing to give her the time she needs to truly blossom. If you believe the best relationships are worth waiting for, Lucky just might be your perfect match.
